I turned my head up and kissed him.
He kissed me back, tender and sweet, and when we finally pulled apart, he kissed each cheek.
“Go to sleep,” he whispered. “I’m here.”
I did. I was exhausted, physically and emotionally. It felt too good to be in his arms.
