I pressed my thighs together, trying to ignore the heat building between them. “You can’t do this here.”

“I’m not doing anything.” His hand stilled but didn’t move away. “Just standing here with my girlfriend.”

That word again. Girlfriend. It shouldn’t have affected me the way it did, but every time he said it, something warm bloomed in my chest.

“We should probably head back down,” I said, even though I didn’t want to move.

“In a minute.” He turned me so I was facing the water instead of the party, his body pressed against my back. His arms wrapped around my waist. “I want to watch the sunset with you.”

So we stood there as the sky turned from orange to deep pink to purple. Other guests had the same idea, couples drifting toward the railings to watch.

“This is nice,” I murmured.

“It is.” His lips brushed my ear. “I keep thinking about later.”

“Later?”

“When I get you home.” His voice dropped lower. “When I can take my time with you. No rushing. No worrying about getting caught.”

My breath hitched. “Drew.”

“I’m going to peel that dress off you so slowly,” he continued, his words sending shivers down my spine. “Taste every inch of skin I uncover. Make you come so many times you lose count.”

“You’re evil,” I breathed.

“I’m motivated.”

The sun slipped below the horizon, taking the last of the light with it. String lights flickered on across the yacht, casting everything in a warm, golden glow. The party shifted into evening mode. The music got louder, the laughter more raucous, the drinks flowing faster.

All I wanted was the yacht to head back to the dock. I wanted to be at his house. In his bed with him on top of me. Screw the yacht party.

DREW

Iwoke up to sunlight streaming through the bedroom windows and Kensey’s hair spread across my chest. My alarm hadn’t gone off yet, but I was wide awake. Four hours of sleep should have left me feeling like death, but instead, I felt like I could run a marathon.

I watched her sleep. Her lips slightly parted, her breathing soft and even. We’d barely slept. Every time we tried, one of us would reach for the other and we’d be at it again. My body was exhausted but my mind was sharp, alert, buzzing with something I couldn’t quite name.

She stirred against me, making a small sound of protest as consciousness crept in.

“Morning,” I said quietly.

Her eyes opened slowly, unfocused at first. Then she smiled. “What time is it?”

“Early. We’ve got time.”

She stretched, arching her back in a way that made the sheet slip down, exposing her full breasts. I watched, appreciating the view. I saw one of the many love bites I had left and felt a surge of possessiveness I had never experienced before. She caught me looking and laughed.

“You’re insatiable.”

“Can you blame me?”

She kissed my chest, then my jaw, then finally my mouth. “We need to get up. We both have work.”

“I know.” I didn’t move.

“Drew.”
