“I’m close—” he gasps.

“Cum while I’m inside of you,” I growl, my own breathing ragged, and he shatters.

His body shakes, tightening around me so hard it pushes me right over the edge. I thrust hard one last time, pull out, and Oliver collapses against the mattress, trembling with aftershocks.

I strip the condom off and watch, completely hypnotized, as I cum all over his body. My body shivers as I slide my fingers over his skin, filled with a possessive need to rub myself against him, marking him with my scent just as I have marked him with my mouth.

Oliver turns around and reaches up, burying his fingers in my hair to pull my face down to his. We kiss desperately at first as we ride down our high, but then we just stay there, kissing, trailing our fingers lazily over each other’s bodies.

After a few minutes of touching each other, I carefully roll to the side, taking his weight with me so we stay tangled together.

“Cielo, we need to shower.”

“No…” he groans sleepily against my chest.

“You will regret it when everything dries,” I warn him, and he mumbles something I can’t even understand, so I give up.

I kiss his temple, slide out of bed, and go to the bathroom, where I wet a hand towel with warm water.

Coming back, I use the towel to clean his body, then mine, before sliding back to his side and pulling the covers over both of us.

I pull Oliver against my chest, wrapping my arms tightly around him. As he falls asleep peacefully in my arms, it feels like we are the only two people left in the world.

Because to me, he is my world. And I’m going to do everything to protect him.

CHAPTER 20

OLIVER

I’m hunched over the desk, checking the twentieth freaking ledger, hoping we can match the amounts my father wrote to the payments the Cuervos cartel had in the past years.

We already matched two, but we need at least two more to prevent this from landing in a “this was just a coincidence” claim from my father’s lawyers.

“How about this one?” asks Matani, a Samoan man Silvio recruited to our side a few weeks ago, and I am so damn glad he did. This man is not just enormous; he’s smart and knows exactly where to look. “This ledger doesn’t match the Cuervos, but it matches the shipment that Senator Morris sent to Panama.”

I check the numbers and match them. Yes, they are perfect.

“Great job, Matani.” I point at the boxes on top of the couch. “Mark it with red and put it in the first box to the left.”

Matani takes a red marker, slides it across the matching numbers, and—

SLAM!

The door flies open and crashes against the wall. Serena storms into the room.

“Everyone out,” she yells as I try to recover from the freaking heart attack she just gave me.

Silvio and Matani freeze and look at me, unsure of what to do. Hell, even I am unsure of what they should do. Still, I give them a nod, and they move.

Silvio pulls out a map from the main desk, uses it to cover the ledgers we were looking at, and they both leave the room.

For a moment, I think Serena is going to go all drama queen about something Rafael did, or how my father doesn’t want to approve her new party, or whatever her new hobby is. But instead, Serena closes the door and starts pacing.

She looks terrified… so much so, I’ve never seen her like this

“What is going—”

“Rafael knows Damián is a Harknett,” she says, and my heart stops.
