“Will do.” I hop into the car and back out of the driveway. “I know the campus office is open, but Rex is the next light down. I think we should go there.”

“I don’t give a damn where we go.” She glares at me.

“Fine.”

We pull into the hospital’s ER parking within five minutes. I take the first spot I can find and turn the car off. Jumping out, I hurry around to help Robin out.

“Do you want to use your one leg or should I carry you?”

Her eyes widen. “Carry me, I can’t walk!”

“Okay, unbuckle your seatbelt.” I reach in, carefully picking her up. “Watch your foot.”

“I’m trying, but can you not be so rough?” Her face contorts, and I wince.

“Sorry.”

Four hours later we’re at my place, and I’m helping her in the door. Lachlan slides the chair out of her path, while One opens my door.

“What did they say?” Lan asks.

I twist my mouth so Robin can’t see. “They think it’s sprained, so she needs to take it easy.”

“No crutches? Where’d you take her?” One frowns.

“Rex.” I incline my head toward the direction of the hospital. “They’re thinking soaking it and slowly working it will help it.”

“I’m gonna go lay down. Will you bring me a drink?” Robin says as she walks through my bedroom door.

I grasp her arm. “Can I help you into bed first?”

“I’ve got it, just shut the door so I can change.” She jerks away from me.

I hold my hands in the air. “Okay.” I close the door behind her and turn to the kitchen. The guys are on my heels, and I immediately know what’s coming. I’m not in the mood to hear it, though.

“So she’s alright?” Lachlan leans against the counter while I get a glass.

I spin on my toes toward the refrigerator. “As far as they can tell, she is.”

One raises his brows. “She really has been taking lessons from Monty.”

“I’m angry, but I have no proof she faked it.” I pour orange juice into the glass.

“Lenny.” I turn to find Lachlan shaking his head. He stops when I hold my hand up.

“I know. I’ve thought about nothing but the timing.”

One pats my shoulder. “As long as you’re good, we’re not trying to tell you what to do or how to handle anything. I mean, I can’t say anything about someone else’s relationship.”

“Don’t worry, I know what happened, and as soon as she’s better, we’re going to have a long talk.”

“Alright, get back in there.” Lachlan follows me out of the kitchen.

“Thanks, brother.” I open the door to find Robin staring me down.

“You think I’m faking?” She jabs her finger at me.

“I didn’t say that, Robin.”

“They hate me, and you know it.” She flops into the chair behind her. “You never even defended me.”

I set her juice on the nightstand. “There’s nothing to defend. You sprained your ankle. I’m taking care of you, and we’re going to bed.”

“I refuse to sleep here with all of you against me,” she huffs.

I pull my keys from my pocket. “Whatever you want.”

“Huh? What are you doing?” Her mouth falls.

“Taking you home.”

She stands, wandering over to the bed. “I need a shirt to sleep in.”

“So we’re not taking you home?” I lean over as she undresses and pull a shirt from my chest. I toss it at her and unzip my pants.

She puts the shirt on and climbs under the blanket. “I’m not faking.”

“Never said you were.” But I’m thinking it.
