“That’s too bad.” He closes the distance between us. “May I call you sometime?”
Yeah, well, if you and I both didn’t know you were married, I’d say yes, but that’s not the case. I place my hand on the door, pushing it ajar. “If it’s business, anytime, but if it’s personal, I’m in a relationship.”
“Lucky guy.” He winks.
“Lucky girl.” Now, it’s my turn to wink.
I do my best not to run to the elevator, and with any luck, it’ll be waiting for me when I get there. I pull out my phone to text Millie. I know she’ll get a kick out of this. We decided when I moved in with her, she’d be my reason for not dating.

I’m in my car and on 504 by three. Rolling down the window, I crank up the music. There’s nothing like good music and wind in your hair to make you reflect and feel better. By the time I get to Highway Seventeen, I’m ready to let loose.
I turn into Millie’s complex and park in the first spot I can find, a few doors down from hers. I climb out, shutting the door when I hear footsteps slapping the sidewalk behind me.
“Loooo!” Millie yells, making me jump and scream with her.
I fall against my car, clutching my chest. “What in the fresh hell?”
“Are you ready to sin, baby?” She shakes her boobs at me. “Vegas is on!”
“Ewe, stop that.” I slap at her. “What do you mean?”
She dances toward her condo. “Lea called. We have flight plans, a penthouse to stay in, and the entire weekend.”
