“Let’s do this.” One hops up. “By the way, I’d like to apologize now for all the women I’ll be taking from you tonight.”

“Yeah, I hear you.” Lachlan nods, moving his King again. “That’s until Montgomery ‘the psycho’ shows.”

One narrows his eyes as I shrug. “Again, he’s not wrong.”

“Ya know, I used to tell people we were friends.” One walks toward the door.

“You also told people you two were exclusive.” I laugh.

Lachlan bites his lip but can’t hold back. “You just forgot to tell her!” My brother and I can’t stand it another second as we burst into a fit of laughter.

One opens the door, raising both hands in the air to flip us off. “Later!”

“Dude, we’re coming.” Lachlan punches my arm as he follows One out the door. I move my King into position, knocking Lachlan’s over before I jog out the door, closing it behind me.

“Lenny!” Lachlan yells from the elevator.

“What, damn it?” I growl, sliding between the doors.

“So have you given any thought about our housing next year?” One leans against the back wall.

“I say we do it, but we have to start looking now.”

Lachlan nods. “Agreed.”

“Three bedrooms, close to campus?” One glances at me.

“Hold up.” Lachlan side eyes me. “Did you finish me off?”

“I did.” My mouth spreads wide.

One chuckles. “Why do you even try?”

“Pride,” Lachlan grunts as the elevator pings open, and we step out.

“You better learn to swallow it. You’ll never beat me.”

“Don’t say ‘beat’ and ‘swallow’ in the same sentence again.” One shakes his head.

“It’s all he knows how to do!” Lachlan pushes me into the wall as we exit the dorm.

“Hate the game, asshole!” I snicker.

One’s lip quirks. “The worst twins.”

We make our way across campus and down the street. By the time we arrive, the party is in full swing. I lay back, walking in last so I can scan the rooms. I try not to be too obvious, but I can’t get a thing past my brother.

“Who you looking for?”

I shrug. “No one, just seeing who’s here.”

“It looks as though you’re searching for someone.”

I push past him. “Whatever.”

“The keg’s this way!” One motions, but I keep walking.

I know she’s here. She’s always at these things and always with the wrong guys. I move from room to room, meandering through the hoard when I do spot someone. I slide next to the female on the counter, never taking my eyes off the guy in front of her.
