He kisses the top of her head. "I know, Boo. Have you decided what you're naming him?"
"I sure have but I'm not telling until he's here." She finally notices me and to my surprise, greets me with a hug. "Auntie Harper."
My jaw drops. "Hello, Rumor. Congratulations!"
"Are you staying to meet my brother?" She clasps her hands, beaming up at me.
I glance at Ridge as he raises his brows. "Absolutely!"
"Yay!" She claps, dancing around before coming to an abrupt stop. "Will I be staying with you and Uncle Ridge tonight?"
"You're probably staying with me or your Nana tonight." Kenny chimes in, reaching for her hand.
Rumor twists her mouth. "Alright but can I come spend the night with y'all sometime soon?"
"You're more than welcome anytime I'm there, but it'll have to be soon. I'll be moving and Uncle Ridge is at his apartment for now."
Her frown deepens. "Where are you going? You just got here."
"I need to find a job and a home, but I'll always be your friend and you can come visit me anytime you want." I sweep her hair over her shoulder.
Ridge kneels beside her. "Hey, Rumor. You go with Grampy and I'll see if I can find you something to welcome your baby brother. Alright?"
"Yes!" Her face lights up.
"We'll be right back." He nods, standing as she slips away with Mackenzie's dad. I shiver when he lays his hand on the small of my back, ushering us from the room. "We need to talk."
I try to pull away once we're through the doors, but he clutches my shirt, tugging me in the opposite direction. "Would you stop man handling me?"
"Will you stop driving me crazy?" He pushes through another door, slamming it behind us.
He spins me around and I'm pinned against the wall with Ridge looming over me. The heat from his body radiates off him, fueling this fire and ramping up my need for him.
We're locked in a deep gaze and a frenzied desire builds in my lower belly. "How am I driving you crazy?"
"What's with this job and moving shit?" His eyes burn dark and hungry.
I sweep the tip of my tongue over my bottom lip, hoping to wet my dry mouth. "Ridge, I spent years having someone tell me what to do and when to do it. Don't you think I deserve some happiness?"
"Why do you have to leave the house? Can't you be happy there?" His brows pull tight as his blue gaze puts me further under his spell.
I open my mouth, and close it quickly as I savor his scent. "No. I mean, yes. I can't think straight with you standing so close to me."
"You don't think your scent drives me crazy," he leans in, running his nose just below my jaw. "I fucking love it."
I force myself to slow my breathing, sighing heavily. "I don't want this harder than it should be. We've waited a lifetime, and I don't want to wait another minute if it means I do it without you."
"You deserve so much more; I've broken every rule already but I'm still in love with you." His lips graze my ear lobe, melting me against his body.
I fist his shirt, yanking him closer to me. "Let me decide what I deserve, and when to do it."
"I'm scared as hell to want you but here I am, not only wanting you but needing you." His body presses into mine.
I trail my lips down his neck. "Why don't we break the rules together."
"What rules are we breaking?" His warm breath sweeps over me, and I shudder from his proximity. He's always been the one to bend all the rules, and I've always fucking loved him for it.
I tilt my head, our mouths an inch apart. "All of them, Ridge. Every damn one of them."
