Rush: Good night.
Spencer: I was just thinking about you.
Rush: Please tell me you’re naked.
Spencer: Why?
Spencer: You’ve never seen me naked.
Spencer: It won’t help.
Rush: It’s not about seeing,
Rush: it’s because of you.
Spencer: No need to keep trying,
Spencer: you’ve got the girl already.
Rush: Getting her wasn’t the problem.
Rush: It’s keeping the right one, that is.
Spencer: Keep it up, this might even get you laid.
Rush: Promise?
Rush: Better yet…
Spencer: Yes?
Rush: If you’re going to promise me anything…
Spencer: Yes?
Rush: Say it with…
Rush: I do solemnly promise.
Spencer: Rush…
Rush: Yes?
Spencer: Good night.
Rush: And to you, my Queen.
I set my phone down and close my laptop. As a woman, I know what it’s like to have people look at your past and never allow you to move beyond it. I won’t do that to Rush.

Rush
I pull into my driveway, happy to be home. As soon as I’m out of the truck, I can hear music playing in the garage. I grab my briefcase from the back seat and walk over.
The closer I get, the more I can make out Margo and the sound of giggles. I roll my eyes, trying not to laugh at my best friend. We’ve shared some great times over the years, but this giggling is different.
She sounds like a girl.
