I turned in his arms and lifted mine to wrap around his neck. “You are the sweetest soul,” I whispered. “I’m so glad you’re here.”
He pressed his forehead to mine and then kissed my mouth. “Good. Now get naked and get in that bath before it gets cold. When you get out, I’ll give you a massage.”
He pointed to the corner of the room, where a table had been set up.
I’d been so concentrated on the huge blow-up bath, I hadn’t even noticed the other addition.
I gawked at it and then laughed. “Is that hole for my belly?”
Lynx grinned. “Absolutely. I know you’ve been missing sleeping on your stomach. Now you can, at least for a bit.”
My heart squeezed at the realization this man actually listened when I spoke. He paid attention when I stated what I wanted, what I missed, what I was scared of. And he did something about it.
I kissed him again. “I know it’s not why you did all this, but I am going to give you the best blow job of your life as a thank you.”
He snorted on his amusement and shook his head. “Just get in the bath, Nyah.”
He didn’t have to tell me again. I peeled off the oversized sweats I’d stolen out of Luca’s closet and kicked them to the corner of the room. The walls of the bath were quite high, and I wasn’t particularly tall, so I wasn’t exactly sure how I was supposed to get in until Lynx swept me up in his arms and lowered me over the edge and into the warm water.
Instantly, all my problems felt halved. The warm water consumed me, and I sank beneath the surface, relishing the feeling of being weightless for the first time since I’d gotten pregnant.
When I broke the surface, he was kneeling at the edge of the pool, watching me with a quiet pleasure on his handsome face. “You’re enjoying that.”
“So much. This was exactly what I needed. Thank you.”
“Pleasure is all mine.”
It was clear he meant it. That seeing me happy made him happy. And I suddenly felt like such an asshole for the low mood I’d been in ever since Dax had left.
Lynx hadn’t. He was still here. And I needed him to know how much I loved him for that.
I floated around in the pool with my eyes closed until the water got too cold to lie there a second longer. He helped me out and then refused to let me dry myself. He knelt in front of me and wiped off every water droplet with a thick, fluffy towel he had to have bought specifically for this experience because it was nothing like the almost threadbare towels the clubhouse stocked.
I scratched my nails gently across his scalp as he got me dry. He groaned at the way I tugged on his hair, and he gazed up at me.
“You’re not going to make it to the second half of your present if you keep doing that.”
I grinned at him. “Maybe that’s my plan. Maybe getting you to put your mouth all the places you just got me dry was the plan all along. That seems like a pretty good present for both of us, if you ask me.”
He shook his head. “Not yet. I will, I promise. But I want you to take that nap on the massage table first.”
I had to admit, that also sounded good.
He covered the plastic-topped table with more fluffy towels, and then I clambered on, really feeling how heavy my belly was after having the weight off while I’d been in the bath.
The feeling of lying down on my stomach for the first time in months was nothing but pure bliss. I groaned and twisted my head to one side, my eyes instantly closing as the relaxation caught up to me.
Warm oil dripped across my back, and I moaned again. “Oh my God. That feels amazing.”
So did his hands on my skin. I hadn’t realized how dry the cooling weather had made it, or maybe it was a pregnancy thing, I wasn’t sure, but my skin suddenly felt like it had been left out in the Sahara for a week, and this oil was the first sip of water it’d been given. The oil soothed every tight cell, and Lynx’s fingers chased it around my back, over my ass, and down my legs until I was so relaxed I was drooling on the pillow.
I didn’t care. If it had been anyone but him, I would have been mortified and immediately rearranged my head and mouth and paid more attention so that didn’t happen.
But with Lynx, I let go.
The man could handle me.
He could handle a little relaxation drool.
