“What’s this about?” he asked, fidgeting. “She’s scary as fuck, Luke.”

“I don’t know.” He followed me toward the exit. “I asked to go with you guys and she said she wanted to talk to you.”

“Okay. Weird...but I’ll see what she wants,” he said, as I opened the door for him.

Cassandra dismissed me, so I walked out of earshot. A few minutes later, O walked back over smiling. “You can come!”

“What’d she say to you?”

“That if you and Cam spend any time alone together and she finds out about it, then I can no longer speak to you or be your friend.”

“And you’re okay with that?”

“It’s not like she’d find out if it even happened. I’m not gonna tell her,” he admitted. “Did something happen between you two? Is that why it’s so awkward and Cassandra is like a watered down Disney villain?”

“I...don’t really want to talk about it right now, O, but I’m happy I can go. I need to go change first.”

“Me too. The needing to change part.” He laughed. “And sorry, I guess the other thing is none of my business. We’ll meet you at the Marble Arch at noon. I figured that’s an easy landmark, plus it’s a Tube stop. I’ll bring the guys.”

She must have seen the surprise on my face when I walked back over to her. “Don’t disappoint me, Lucas. I’m not cruel. I know you need to have a little fun. Just don’t take advantage of it.”

“Thanks, Cassandra.”

I disliked having to grovel just to hang out with the team, but the result was that I was being given a little freedom. And I didn’t intend to waste it in sweats.

They gave all athletes monthly passes for the Tube, so we didn’t have to worry about getting around. I got to the Arch early, so I was people-watching from a bench and perhaps a little excited. I tried to look as cute as possible without looking like I tried. My outfit hopefully left little to anyone’s imagination. I had on brand new, black Nike low-tops, mid-thigh length black denim shorts and a bright pink polo that hugged my broad chest. It was beautiful out, in the mid-sixties and sunny.

I saw the guys before they saw me. I couldn’t help but notice many women turn their heads to gawk at the muscular spectacle before them, and more than a few men as well. Any of them would have made my mouth water on sight, but my eyes were for Cam and Cam alone. He was wearing the tightest jeans I had ever seen him in. I could see his calf muscles bulging through the legs. He had bright white tennis shoes and a white dress shirt, with the sleeves rolled up, and quite a few buttons unbuttoned. I was not complaining and my dick, stirring in my shorts, wasn’t either. I willed it back down as I stood up and waved.

“There he is,” Colton said. “I still can’t believe you got away from her.”

Speechless, all I could do was blush. Did everyone know?

“Get away from who?” Alex asked.

“His...uh...coach is a little controlling,” O covered for me.

“Oh, that’s nothing. I used to have a coach in grade school that wouldn’t let me go to the bathroom unless I asked permission.”

“Really?” I asked.

“Yeah, it wasn’t until high school when I had the balls to tell my parents I hated him.”

O laughed and Alex asked, “What’s so funny?”

“I’ve never heard you say ‘balls’ before.”

“That’s funny?” he asked, throwing up his hands. “Balls, balls, balls. I know I’ve said it before.”

I started giggling too, and then Colton and Cam did as well.

“You guys are crazy. The locker room is all dick this and dick that, but the second I say ‘balls', you all lose it!”

We were all really laughing now, and Alex eventually joined us. I was thankful that we had steered the conversation away from Cassandra. I didn’t want to think about her for the rest of the day.
