“Once Woodward told me what happened, I knew what you’d do. You wouldn’t want to leave his side if you could help it. I’ve spent almost four years with you, Luke. And you’re gay, not a saint. I’ve seen a dildo before.”

My mouth dropped open and my neck grew hot. “So, you got everything,” I squeaked out.

She laughed. “Some of it, I’ll admit, was new to me.”

“Okay, okay. That’s enough. I’m throwing it all out now.”

“Does Andrew Christian make women’s underwear?” she asked.

“I get it. You were thorough. I’m not surprised by that at all. But this big sister thing is going to take some getting used to.”

“Take all the time you need. I’ll be here.”

I gave her a hug. The first one I actually wanted to give her. No cameras around at all. We went back into Cam’s room to join the others.

Colton was standing next to Cam, reenacting carrying him down the stairs. Heather was talking to Coach. I guess Shane returned at some point because he was whispering to Noah. Alex and O were over at the window, looking at the view with Ford.

As soon as I got far enough into the room that Cam could see me, his eyes met mine. I saw Colton notice and stop talking, turning to look at me, but I continued to stare at Cam. He had waited long enough. I didn’t care if everyone else in the room heard. I cleared my throat, but saw Cam tug on Colton’s jacket. He wrote something on the notepad and showed it to Colton.

Colton stood up. “Alright, everybody, clear out. Cam wants to rest and he can’t do that with y’all jabbering away in here.”

“Oh Cam Cam, that’s probably for the best. I’ll be right outside,” Heather said. “Hopefully, the test results come back soon.”

I stood, rooted to the floor in shock. That was it. He didn’t want me here. I took a step towards the door, but was jerked backward a moment later. I turned to see Colton had grabbed my wrist.

“Not you, cowboy. You stay.” He winked, and ushered the last of everyone out, just before he closed the window blinds to the hallway. He gave me a quick thumbs up as the door shut.

I turned to see Cam holding the notepad out. I walked closer to read it.

Luke seemed shocked, but he walked over and sat on the bed. I pulled at him, motioning for him to lie like he was before. It was annoying to flip the notepad back and forth, but I also wanted to feel his body against mine again.

When he leaned over earlier, and his abs peaked out as his shirt lifted, I couldn’t stop my hand from touching him. It was only because of these heavy hospital blankets that Luke hadn’t noticed my hard dick.

I purposely didn’t wiggle over this time, so he had less room. I smiled inwardly as his left arm went over my head. It wasn’t quite snuggling, but it was close. He still hadn’t said anything, so I decided to give him a push.

So, your heart broke. You needed to...

I looked up at him expectantly, and he smiled. “Bossy Cam.”

Those two words certainly brought up some memories, but I still didn’t know what happened and if anything was different now. I wanted it to be, but I needed more than an erection and a cute guy in my hospital bed to change things.

“I...I needed to see you. I needed to talk to you. To say that I’m sorry. What I did to you was pathetic. It was awful. You didn’t deserve to be treated like that.” I was so hopeful, but I let him keep talking. “There’s nothing I can do to atone for my past actions, but I’ve wanted to apologize for years. When Ty called last night, and I thought I might never talk to you again, I…I just…”

I thought he was hiding a tear, but I couldn’t tell. He regained his composure and continued. “I had already been thinking how asinine I’d been to ignore you all these years. Seeing you these last two weeks was torture. I’ve been ready to change my life. I was afraid you wouldn’t want me the same way again, afraid you didn’t wait for me. You would’ve been justified not to.”

You mean Colton?

“Yeah. Are you more than friends?”

I’m tempted to fuck with you, but sarcasm doesn’t really work well with pen and paper. Just friends.

“Thank you for not giving me a heart attack.”
