“Very much so.”

“So, how big does it get?”

“Quinn! Stop obsessing over my boyfriend’s dick. He’s sitting right here.”

I watched the guy in the booth behind Quinn turn to look at me. He turned away as soon as I winked at him. Our date had turned into a threesome, and not the good kind.

“Well, it’s not my fault. You guys were filming a porn in there and then out you come, a drowned beach rat and a horny anaconda.”

I attempted to alter the course of the conversation. “Well, what’s the biggest you’ve ever seen?”

“Seven. Maybe eight. It’s not like I had a ruler.”

“Bigger!” Ty wasn’t helping. “His is bigger!”

“I figured that out when you paraded through the hallway.”

“As much as I love my dick, can we talk about something else? How are your teams shaping up?”

“Okay, Dad.”

“I’m four years older than you guys, Quinn. Sue me if I want to learn more about your lives and share less about my wang.”

Quinn gave Ty a look, then smiled at me. “My team is doing great. We should make it to the state championships again this year. What have you been up to lately? How’s your other boyfriend? Freddie, was it?”

“He’s not my boyfriend,” I said at the same time as Ty.

“Well, do your parents know about Ty yet?”

“Quinn!” Tyler glared at her.

“You got me.” I held my hands up. “I haven’t told them yet, but I will.”

“Because of Christmas?” Ty asked.

“Because of Christmas.”

“Oh, you’re going to brave the entire Hale clan for the holidays?”

I smiled and nodded. “That’s right. I’m excited to see where this one grew up.” I wrapped an arm around Ty and pulled him close to me, our legs touching under the table.

I knew what she was thinking. We’d only been dating for a couple months and we were probably moving fast, but despite my history with a certain deeply-closeted bisexual - a piece of my past I had yet to mention - it felt different with Ty. A week or so after Santa Cruz, I had reiterated that I wanted to date him and only him and that I’d always be up front with what I was feeling. I heard the sigh of relief through the phone, and he agreed he’d do the same. His exact words were, “I am enthusiastically in support of that policy.”

While we were planning this visit, Ty had asked what I was doing for Christmas. I didn’t really feel like Ty would be ready for the bacchanalia that was my parents’ tradition, so I said I’d do whatever he wanted me to as long as I could spend it with him. I could tell he was thrilled, and soon after that, it was decided. I’d be heading to Monterrey for Christmas with the Hales.

I knew my parents would be disappointed, but I hoped they’d be happy for me. They were happy because I was dating Freddie. They should be happier that I was dating someone for real, though I’d possibly have to deal with their slight anger at being deceived.

I was excited to tell them about Ty. I was waiting until after this trip. There was a small part of me that wanted to see how Ty was with me hanging out in his environment, in his comfort zone.

“I didn’t think you’d told your family yet?” Quinn asked, looking at Ty.

Ty stuttered next to me, so I answered for him. “Ty can tell them before or not. Whatever he’s comfortable with. Personally, I think I’d make a great Christmas present for the Hales.”

“Nah, I’ll probably tell them before we go. Get the embarrassing questions out of the way, so they don’t ask them all in front of you.”

“Like what?”
