I shook my head.

“And he was kind of cool about it?”

I chuckled at the question. “Yeah, my bulge was just right out there and he didn’t seem to notice at all.”

“You’re assuming he’s gay.”

“I think his mouth proved that.”

“I don’t know, Jack.” Gareth moved, sitting next to me on the stairs. “Maybe he has a doppelganger? And if it was him, he’s still working through stuff. It hasn’t even been a year since his wife left, he lost his job, his kid’s a handful, and now, with this sex room, he’s got an itch that probably hasn’t been scratched in a while.”

“I guarantee you my itch is bigger.”

“What has it been? A week?”

“A week might as well be a year.”

“Poor baby.” Gareth rubbed my back and I was sad to admit the contact was appreciated.

“Do you think getting railed by some jock’s massive schlong qualifies as exertion?”

“Even if you just lie there, like I know you do-”

“You’re such a bitch.”

“I might be a bitch, but yes, it qualifies as exertion. I’m shocked you’re thinking of sex after a visit to the emergency room.”

“Really? I lost consciousness as I was starting to rub one out in a single dad’s den of iniquity while my favorite porn was broadcasted on a screen larger than the one you guys have in your living room and you’re shocked?”

There was a pause before he admitted, “Point taken. I retract my shock.”

The door opened behind us and familiar voices filled the air, so I stood up and Gareth followed suit.

“Glad you’re okay, Jack.” Eli came over and squeezed my shoulder.

“I’m just glad I had this one to take care of me.” I had no idea why I said that, but I also had no idea what Clayton had told Eli. I was sure he left out some important details.

“Clayton’s a good guy,” Eli added.

I thought back to him helping me off the floor and then helping me clean his cum off my shoe and I really needed to get home and take a long shower.

“It’s been a long day,” I said.

“We should get you home.”

There it was again. Clayton the caregiver. And it made me feel…things.

“Good to see you,” Gareth said, before leaning in. “Don’t exert yourself…too hard.” He ended with a whisper.

Henry had a lot of questions and without missing a beat – and without consulting me – Clayton already had the story. I slipped on the stairs and hit my head. MIraculously, I had no other injuries, but it’s not like Henry was going to examine my body for contusions.

As soon as we were home, Henry ran upstairs to his room.

“Finish your homework! I know you were playing video games all night!”

“Yeah, yeah.”

Left alone in the kitchen, Clayton asked, “You hungry?”
