There was a knock at the door and Jack asked me if I was all set. After my answer, he called out, “We’re good.”
I heard the door and a few seconds later some rustling nearby. Soft music began to play, then a quiet voice said, “Let me know if the pressure is how you want it, and if I start working somewhere you want me to stop or change it up, just let me know.”
“Sounds good, Julian.”
Oh my God. As soon as his hands touched my back, all I could think was why had I waited this long.
“Clayton?”
“Ye-yeah?” I opened my eyes to see Jack, smiling down at me.
“You seem to have a habit of falling asleep. The massage is over. Time to go.”
I didn’t even remember flipping onto my back. “I fell asleep?”
Jack laughed, that throaty chuckle I was becoming familiar with. “Yeah, you did. Told you he was good.”
“Good? He was magnificent. I feel like a new man.” I sat up to stretch, then remembered I was naked under the sheet.
“Take your time.” Jack gave my leg a pat. More touching. “I’ll be in the lobby.”
SIX
JACK
Clayton emerged a few minutes after I left him, looking like someone that had just woken up from a ninety minute nap. I decided to fuck with him.
“Looks like that happy ending did you good?”
“What?!”
“I’m teasing. This isn’t that kind of place.”
“Does that kind of place exist? Because I might need that.”
I couldn’t tell if he was flirting, or if his usual defenses had been lowered by Julian’s skillful hands. “I was kidding.”
“Oh, yeah. Me too.”
Now I could tell he’d been lying, but I let it slide as I unlocked my car. “Need to stop anywhere else while we’re out?” I asked.
“I think I’m all set. Thanks again for this. I feel like I’m going to be back next month.”
“Uh oh.” I glanced over to see his smiling face. “I’ve created a monster.”
“Possibly?” He chuckled.
“Well, pro tip, Julian’s appointments go fast. Book in advance.” I put the car in gear and headed out of the parking lot.
“Good to know.” Clayton’s phone rang and he apologized. “Mind if I get it?”
I shook my head and then attempted to mind my own business, which really meant figuring out who was on the other end. It didn’t appear to be someone he knew, but it sounded promising.
“Uh, yes. Yes. I can do tomorrow. Two o’clock sounds good. I’ll check my email for the link. I look forward to speaking with you, Cooper.”
When the conversation was done and Clayton put the phone down, I asked, “Good news?”
“Really good. I have a job interview on Friday.”
