Danny must’ve seen my face, so I showed him. “So what? It kind of is a date.”
“You don’t think I just fucked it up?”
“The dude sent you a photo of his ass and wrote three love notes, I don’t think he’s going to care if you use that term.”
PillowByter: Sounds good.
Whew.
CHAPTER 7
It turned out using that term was fortuitous.
Because it led to PillowByter suggesting bi-weekly chats which continued over the holidays.
For Thanksgiving, we had both stayed on campus, but for Christmas, he stayed and I flew home. I tried to deny it, but my siblings could tell something was up. My older brother kept telling everyone I had finally found a “special boy”. After he asked in private if I had given my flower away yet, I introduced my fist to his stomach and since my bicep was twice the size of his, he didn’t ask again.
PillowByter wouldn’t reveal why he stayed on campus for Christmas, and I didn’t push him about it. There were plenty of reasons, and they weren’t any of my business. Especially if he didn’t want to share.
The fact that we were miles apart didn’t matter. In every conversation, with each passing message, I felt closer to him. That should’ve been weird, but it wasn’t.
PillowByter: Did Santa bring you anything amazing?
CircusTent: No jockstraps. Sad face.
PillowByter: That is sad.
PillowByter: You’ll just have to send a nude instead.
CircusTent: Did Santa bring you anything for your junk?
PillowByter: Nope, just got the new PC monitor I wanted for gaming.
PillowByter: That was pretty much it.
PillowByter: And my books for next semester.
CircusTent: Every nerd’s dream.
PillowByter: Totally.
PillowByter: You must be lost. A jock with no jockstrap.
PillowByter: I’ll have to get you one.
CircusTent: What if I did get you something?
PillowByter: Lol. You going to set a trap for me?
PillowByter: Or do you think I’ll send you my mailing address?
CircusTent: Worth a shot.
CircusTent: And if I did, it would definitely be a jockstrap.
PillowByter: I’d wear it for you.
CircusTent: Do you have one?
