“One thing at a time. You’re getting overwhelmed. Let’s look at the furniture and then go home.”
Home.
Our home.
CHAPTER
SEVENTEEN
DARE
I don’t even know what the fuck we bought today, but I kept throwing shit in the cart. Whatever looked like a baby would need, I grabbed it. We’ll worry about lists and shit another day, or rather, Chassis can worry about that shit another day.
Once we were checked out and in the car, we stopped for food, because I don’t know what the fuck I was thinking by offering to take her shopping. I feel like my balls shrank ten times in that goddamn store. I could go the rest of my fucking life without ever walking through those doors again.
But now we’re home, Chassis is in the bedroom unpacking her shit, then announces she’ll be taking a shower. I walk into the baby’s room and look around the space. There isn’t much here, just the crib I ordered.
When I turn away from the bedroom, I see her walking down the hall. She stops, then tips her head back, her eyes landing on mine. I’m finding it really fucking hard to keep my control intact.
“I can’t thank you enough for today,” she murmurs.
I don’t give a fuck. I can think of better ways for her to show me her thanks, and they include both of us being naked. Naked and rolling around between the sheets. Fuck. I don’t know how much longer I’m going to be able to hold back.
Instead of responding to her—mainly because I have no more fucking words left to say—I lift my hands to cup her cheeks, and then my lips touch hers. This is bigger than at the fucking store, more than lying in bed together.
This is it.
The control snaps.
She’s no longer just the woman I married for protection. Right now, she’s a woman.
My woman.
Wrapping my arms around her, I grip the fabric of her shirt and pull it over her body, only breaking the kiss to get it over her head before tossing it to the floor somewhere. I catch my breath before I dive back into her.
“Amos,” she breathes, and the sound goes straight to my fucking dick.
I love it when she says my name. I didn’t think I would give a fuck if anyone ever called me Amos again, but goddamn, I love it when Chassis says it—all breathy and fucking sexy. My lips twitch into a smirk, and I lower my head, shifting my face closer to hers again.
“Please,” she begs.
I should turn around and walk out of the hallway. I should climb onto my bike and ride back to the clubhouse. But I don’t. Instead, I reach down, gripping the backs of her thighs and hitching her body up high so she can wrap her legs around my waist. And she does.
Walking forward, I move toward our bedroom, but I don’t make my way to the bed yet. I lower her down to the floor. Chassis curls her fingers around the sides of my throat as I break the kiss.
Looking down into her eyes, I search her gaze. “Tell me no, and I’ll walk right out of this room. No hard feelings and everything goes back to the way it was this morning.”
“You mean us curled up with each other, kissing?” she asks breathlessly.
My lips curve up into a smirk. “Something like that.”
She laughs softly, then she rises to her toes, and I feel her lips against my own. “Amos,” she murmurs against my mouth. “I want you.”
That’s it. Whatever control I had snaps like a fucking rubber band stretched too tightly. My fingers grip the backs of her thighs tighter before I pick her up and carry her over to the bed.
Laying her down, I don’t waste a second before I climb over her body, my mouth never leaving hers. She tastes like goddamn heaven.
I kiss her long, hard, and wet.
