“I’m going to do what I was trying to do through you. Obviously, that didn’t go well.”
“So you want to force my father to run drug transports? I don’t think that’s going to work.”
He chuckles. “No, that was just how I wanted to get in with the Iron Flame MC. I’m not playing the long game anymore. I fucking want the whole thing.”
“The whole thing?” I ask.
Maybe it’s a stupid question. I’m not sure. But what I do know is that I’m not going anywhere until Gauge knows what the fuck is going on. It’s why I’m demanding to know. I can agree to run away. Where I’ll go, I have not a single fucking clue, but I can go somewhere if I need to. Especially if it means protecting my family, my brothers, my father, and especially Amos.
“The club. I want it.”
“Just how in the fuck do you think you’re going to do that?” Gauge demands. “I have a feeling that’s a fight you’re not gonna win, pencil dick.”
My brother is getting pissed. I can feel the heat rolling off his body as he stands next to me. It’s coming in waves. I know he is ready to absolutely beat the shit out of this guy.
I would love to see that—might actually pay for it.
“I figure once I unleash chaos, it will be easy. The two clubs will be scrambling, and I’ll just swoop in. Then Rustik will have no choice but to fucking promote me to a higher rank.”
Aaahhh, there it is.
He wants recognition.
I have a feeling a phone call to Rustik would go a long way in this situation. I don’t let on my thoughts, though. The last thing I want to do is let him know I’ve figured it out and am working on a plan to get him buried… six feet under.
“So you want me gone, and when do you expect this to happen?” I ask.
A look passes between Samuil and Rocky. They don’t say anything. Instead, they slowly shift their attention to meet mine. I watch them, waiting for them to just tell me what the fuck they want.
I have a feeling they weren’t thinking that far ahead. I’m sure they have some kind of idea, but they really have no goddamn clue. They’re assholes and idiots, which tracks with them. The fact that they found one another is amazing. I hope they drown together, too, or burn, whatever happens first.
“You’re not going home today, baby,” he purrs.
I hate this man with every fiber of my being. I don’t tell him that, though. There’s no reason for it. It’s fine. I’ll walk away today, but I know it won’t be forever. Amos will, without a doubt, come looking for me.
He loves me… I think.
“And Gauge?” I ask.
When Rocky takes a step forward, I start to move between them but stop myself. She reaches out, placing her hand on the center of my brother’s chest. I hate her. I hate the way she’s touching my brother.
I imagine it’s her touching Amos, and it makes me beyond furious.
In fact, it makes me downright homicidal.
“Don’t worry, Gauge will be taken care of,” she purrs.
I bite my bottom lip and worry the skin back and forth as I try to think of how in the hell I’m going to get to where I need to be with my brother. I’m not leaving him. I walked in here with Gauge, and I’m leaving with him.
“I want my brother with me,” I demand.
“Fine, go, the two of you,” Samuil calls out before he lifts his hand and waves us away.
Good.
As long as I have Gauge, there’s hope we’ll outsmart him or at least get to Amos or my father before anything gets too insane. There is no way that Samuil is going to get away with this.
I wrap my fingers around my brother’s and squeeze. Taking one step backward, then another, I tug him along with me.
