“You tried to fuck with my daughter’s life,” Cake announces.
Lee can’t speak. The tie around his mouth prohibits that, but I hear him mumble as he shakes his head from side to side. Cake doesn’t give a shit, and frankly, neither do I, because even if he hadn’t fucked with my wife’s life, he did try to fuck the Iron Flame MC, and that right there is enough to kill him.
Flicking my gaze to the side, I someone else sitting right next to him. It’s Samuil. Another one that Rustik offered as a gift. A peace offering and I accepted it, almost fucking gleefully.
Rustik was going to send him to Russia—or at least that’s what he told all his men he’d planned on doing. He prepped him for departure, then he called me to come to the airport in the middle of the night, before the plane even arrived. I don’t know who was loaded onto the plane heading for Russia, but it wasn’t Samuil.
He knew I would never be able to work with them long term if Rustik hadn’t sweetened the deal beyond just sending Samuil off to another country and handing me Lee. I’d never let it rest. It would be at the back of my mind always. And I would always wonder when the fuck he was coming back.
This is the only way I can trust him.
“Are you ready to put this shit to bed once and for all?” I ask, shifting my gaze from Samuil to Cake, to Lee.
Cake smirks. “Hell fucking yes,” he growls. “Born goddamn ready. I should have done this months ago. But hey, the revenge will still taste just as sweet.”
He takes his time with Samuil, so much so that my mind drifts off to my woman. Honestly, I should have thanked Samuil before he went unconscious. If it weren’t for his scheming, I would have never ended up with Chassis.
I wouldn’t be married to her, and I sure as fuck would not have fallen in love with her.
He saved me.
His being a complete piece of shit worked in my favor. I fell in love with my fake wife—my very pregnant fake wife—and I can’t wait to spend every single fucking day until my last breath showing her just how goddamn much I love and appreciate her.
And I do. Chassis was made just for me—molded and created in a way that I don’t think I could have even done myself. Meant to be mine. That’s what it is, plain and simple. Chassis was meant for me, and I’m going to work every single day to earn that—to earn her.
And today, that means watching her father kill the fucker who manipulated her. And then taking care of the backstabbing cop who tried to ruin my life myself. And enjoying every fucking second of it.
EPILOGUE
CHASSIS
ONE MONTH LATER
Tears well in my eyes as I see what’s in front of me. A party. And not just any party, a baby shower. Except this is the craziest baby shower I’ve ever witnessed in my entire life. My lips smile widely as I sink my teeth into the flesh of my bottom lip to keep from crying and laughing simultaneously.
“She’s here,” Alex cries.
The whole pool party turns around, and men and women alike cheer for me. And it is a pool party. There is a banner hanging over the small arbor area that says “Splish Splash Baby Bash” in blue letters.
There is music playing in the background, the pool is full of blue beach balls, and everyone is wearing their suits. I’ve got my suit on as well but am wearing a cover-up dress that is see-through and hits me at midthigh.
A warm hand presses against the small of my back and applies gentle pressure to move me forward. My feet move, more like a shuffle instead of picking them up and walking forward, but I make it to the party nonetheless. I can’t believe that everyone is here, that they came for me.
And all these big badass bikers are standing at this pool, themed Splish Splash Baby Bash. I can’t decide whether I want to burst into tears or laugh at the sight. So instead of laughing and crying simultaneously, I just smile.
Elodie wraps her arms around me, and I welcome the hug. I don’t think I could have ever imagined I would find friendship with Elodie, Juliette, and Alex. Not that there is anything wrong with them. It’s rather that I am more of a closed-off person, a loner, always have been.
Elodie takes a step backward, keeping her hands on my biceps as she looks into my eyes. I bite my bottom lip, hard, trying to keep from crying. She shakes her head once, her eyes focused on mine.
“Don’t you dare cry. This is a good day. I got all these big bastards here, with baby gifts.”
My lips curve up into a grin, and I nod a couple of times. “Okay,” I breathe. “No tears.”
Elodie lifts her hand. The music is turned up, and the conversations begin to flow. I begin to mingle in the crowd, finding Juliette, who is also pregnant and just beginning to show. She reaches for my hand, squeezing it gently.
“How are you feeling?” I ask.
“Good,” she exhales. “Tired.”
