“We were still young so we tried to take as many precautions as we could so it wouldn't happen. It's hard to get my wolf to stop during mating but I fought for control and no pregnancy happened.” Axe shrugs.

“The pregnancy thing, how do you feel about it?” I dare to ask. His eyes widen in amusement.

“Are you saying you want to have my kids?” He grins.

“Shut up.” I nudge him.

“One day, Elora.” Axe kisses me. “One day.”

Chapter Forty-One

The start of the weekend has been great. Axe and I stayed up practically all night talking about movies, birthdays, memories, interests and more. It felt good to have a normal conversation with him. I feel it will be easy for us to fall into a comfortable homey place. We're on the couch in a blanket just watching tv. It's dinner time soon so I may get up and make something since we haven't had a proper meal for a few days.

“What should we have for dinner?” I ask.

“You decide.” Axe grabs the remote and looks through the channels.

“Well I should get started now then.”

I get up and go to the kitchen. Axe can still see me while I cook. The living room is right across from the kitchen and so is the dining room. But it's so spacious; you could have a party here. I look around the kitchen, trying to get an idea of what to cook. There's a knock at the front door, which makes Axe sit up.

“Dash wouldn't knock,” he voices, then stands up and opens the door. A young girl is standing there looking nervous. “Hi Miss, are you alright?”

“Y-You said to come to you if I have something to report.” She's staring at her feet. She can't even look Axe in the eye.

“Okay, come to my office.” Axe opens the door for her and she steps in. “This way.” He walks to the staircase but she doesn't follow so he turns around.

“Can she be there while we talk?” she asks, gesturing to me.

“Of course.” Axe frowns but waits for me to follow them.

We go upstairs to Axe's office and he sits behind the desk while she sits in the chair in front. I sit beside her.

“Whatever you have to say, go ahead, Miss. I need your name and age first.” Axe nods.

“I'm Elle. I'm fifteen. Umm, something happened and I didn't know who to go to. But after your meeting, I knew I had to say it. You helped her, so maybe you can help me,” Elle murmurs.

“Anything I can.”

“Umm... a few weeks ago... I...” her voice is so quiet and shaky.

“You can tell us,” I encourage softly.

“I was raped,” she whimpers, and drops her face in her hands as she starts crying. I look to Axe and see him gripping the table.

“Give me a name,” Axe demands.

“Reeve Danes,” she says, making my eyes bulge.

I go to school with him. He was persistent with Amelia but she turned him down. Shit, he raped a pack member. Has he raped humans too?

“Listen, he will be dead by the end of the night,” Axe tells her.

“You're going to kill him?” I ask, wide-eyed. “Wouldn't there be a trial?”

“There is no trial for a pedophile. Death is the instant penalty for a rapist. No need for proof either because I can sense she's telling the truth. Elle, whatever help you need, you will have it. If you need to talk to one of the pack doctors, I can inform the infirmary for you.”

“I don't want my parents to know,” Elle admits.
