Sherry was also in the common room, but dressed like your average college student and studying. That was allowed under the new rules. However, it wasn’t up to Devin to call them out. Besides, she and Gwen were friends from when she’d stayed there in the clubhouse.
“Hey, how’s it going?” Instead of the usual bubbly response from her friend, she was met with a sneer and snark.
“Fine. Now leave,” Gwen snapped at her.
What the fuck.
She noticed Sherry shooting her gaze between Gwen and herself, eyes wide.
“Gwen,” Sherry said softly as if warning her friend not to mess with family or it would be bad. Sherry would know. Devin noticed Sherry’s gaze travel off to the side as if to tell Gwen to look, but she ignored it and so did Devin.
Gwen turned her venom on Sherry. “Oh, you’re all high and mighty now that you’re going to college and Heidi is your friend.”
Devin wouldn’t go so far as to say Heidi and Sherry were friends. However, Sherry had paid for purposely coming between Zombie and Heidi. Zombie would’ve kicked her out, but Heidi kept her around. Gave her a redemption arc, and a little payback, but Sherry ran with it.
Gwen and Devin may have been friends, or at least Devin thought they were, but she wouldn’t put up with her attitude. Devin knew that as a sister to a patched member, she wouldn’t be in trouble for giving a club whore what’s what.
“Gwen, drop the fucking attitude and either change or go to your room, you’re not allowed out here during the day with your fucking overused flaps out.”
Gwen spun on her ridiculously high stripper heels.
“Oh, so just because you’re fucking Sasquatch you think you’re all that. You’re not. One day when he’s tired of sticking his dick in a fat cow, he’ll come right back to my bed without a backward glance.”
That was it. Gwen had pissed her the fuck off. Without thought, her fist shot out and landed right against Gwen’s eye. She was going for the nose, but the bitch wobbled on those stupid heels.
Devin felt rather than saw more of an audience gathering, even heard rapid steps approaching. The gait told her it was likely one of the guys.
She held up a hand and spoke without turning around. “Whoever it is, no. It’s only fair she gets a chance to fight back.”
Narrowing her eyes, she spoke to Gwen. “You better make it a good one, because it’s the only fucking one you’ll get. Oh, and by the way, I’m going to stick around for a long time and cock block the fuck out of you so you’ll never get to ride his glorious dick again.”
Her words angered the whore, good. Devin had curated them to do just that; she wanted an excuse to hit her again. She was tired of women who were a size four boiling everything about Devin down to her weight.
Until Jasper, she’d done that to herself too, but she’d be damned if she’d let a bottle blond with a boob job do it, not anymore.
Damn it, she had worth that didn’t hinge on a number on the scale or how many rolls she had. She was funny, intelligent, a pretty good cook if she did say so herself, her brother had taught her to fight decent enough, she had a way with numbers, she could sell water to a drowning man, or so she’d been told, and damn it, she was sexy.
Fuck that bitch.
“He will come back when he gets tired of—” A roar cut through her words.
“ENOUGH.” Zombie had spoken and when he had everyone’s attention, he motioned for Heidi to step forward.
After the Sherry incident, Zombie had handed the department of ol’ ladies, candy stripers, and family matters over to Heidi, as long as it didn’t overlap club business.
Heidi spoke to Diamond first. “Go get dressed and don’t come out like that again during family hours. Be careful and don’t let this one lead you right out that door before you’ve even banked goodwill.” Diamond muttered an apology followed by a thank you and darted toward her room.
Heidi clicked her tongue. “Gwen, Gwen, Gwen. Where did you go wrong? You were the one I thought was the most levelheaded and least bitchy of all the girls since I’ve been here. So, what happened?”
Devin was a little offended that Heidi was asking the whore instead of her. Maybe sisters didn’t have the status she’d always been told.
“Well, she—” Gwen started, but Heidi threw up her hand.
“I’m gonna stop you right there. It was a trick question. The only acceptable response from you would’ve been to start with an apology to Squatch’s ol’ lady and then to hope she was in a good mood and didn’t decide to send you packing, as it’s her call.”
Whew, so Devin hadn’t been misled. Wait, so Heidi knew about the ol’ lady thing before her too?
“Ol’ lady? I don’t think so,” Gwen scoffed.
