“Ours,” my brother and I repeat.

Chapter Twenty-Seven

KEEPER

Georgie walks into the kitchen dressed in jeans and a long sleeve tight black shirt. I’ve never seen her covered up this much. The edges of her lips tip up when she sees me. I give her the orange juice I poured. The pregnancy app I downloaded suggested it as a source of folic acid the baby needs. If she isn’t pregnant yet, she will be.

“Ready to go help Marge with the order?”

“Yes. I need my lipstick out of my guitar case, where is it?” she asks with her head half in the fridge.

“It’s in the office. Are you hungry?”

“Nope, ready to get to work though. Let me run and grab it.” She quickly leaves the room, and I know something is off with her. After our spit shake we fucked her until she couldn’t walk out of my office, then again in the shower. I’ve never been so glad for the size of my bathroom that we could all fit. Maybe she’s nervous about the baby or being pregnant. I’ll have to reassure her this is exactly what should happen. I pull out my phone and open the group chat.

Keeper: Did Georgie say anything this morning?

Zee: Why, what’s wrong? I’m at the diner now, it’s clear. Do you need me back at home?

Calum: She said my dick is her favorite.

Zee: No one believes that fucker, mine’s the biggest, why are you asking, Keep?

Keeper: She seems stressed, maybe it’s about tomorrow or that we have to go over everything tonight.

Zee: Make her feel better.

Calum: Distract her.

Keeper: On it. Calum, when will you be there? How’s the job?

Calum: Not finished because my brother is texting me.

Keeper: Go, we will see you soon. Be safe, you’re going to be an uncle soon.

Calum: Fuck off, you might make the first kid, but Georgie is going to be calling me Daddy tonight.

Zee: She can call me Big Papa.

Keeper:

Georgie walks back in, and I grab the keys off the hook.

“Did you find it?”

“Oh, uh, sure did.” She isn’t wearing lipstick, which is fine by me, she’s perfect without it, but she seems nervous.

I wish Zee was here to do his voodoo reading people shit. My lips brush her cheek when she stops in front of me. “Are you worried about the deal we made yesterday?”

“No, why, are you?”

“Nope, it’s the best agreement I’ve ever made. Love you, kitten. Let’s get going.”

“Keeper, I love you too. So much.” Her lips peck mine, and she walks to the truck waiting for me to help her in. It’s lifted and huge. We use it when we need to haul weapons. I like driving it because it’s loud and badass.

Georgie gets that glazed-over look when her mind wanders.

“What’s going on in your head?”
