“Very much so,” she answered. “I magically got tickets to Hamilton when it came to the Fox a couple of years ago. It is as incredible as the hype claims it to be, I promise.”
“I’ll take your word on that.”
“And yes, spare time is still spent reading. Although I don’t get as much of it as I would like these days,” she said, slightly sad at the thought. “I know it sounds crazy, but keeping up with the blog can be a lot of work. Trying to develop new content, respond to messages, keep the brand up, all that. A lot more goes into developing all of those recipes and hacks than people realize. Since it’s just me, with the help of Antwan here and there, it’s a full-time job.”
“I believe it. You know, Lee and Drea love to read as well. I bet y’all could swap book recommendations.”
“I’d love that! You’re really close to them, huh?”
“Yeah. I hadn’t realized how much I missed having a female friend until I got here and they took me in. Very different from what you and I had, but they’re pretty amazing.”
“I know I said that it didn’t matter,” she said, quickly adding, “and it doesn’t! But, I do find it impressive that you were able to be good friends with Leona after sleeping with her. And I mean that as a compliment.”
“We were just scratching an itch.” Dalton shrugged. “There were absolutely no feelings involved. Lee was very different pre-Cullen. She was in it for the orgasms, not the emotions. That’s what she used to say. And like I said, it was only once.”
“Why?”
“Why what?”
“Why only once?”
“Same as everyone else,” he said, sighing. “She wasn’t you.”
