“Uh-huh.” Mr. Heiss gave Indy a gentle squeeze and then slid a hand over Indy’s hip as if checking for actual damage. “Feeling all right?”
“Fine,” Indy replied with a sweet smile, lifting his head so he could meet Mr. Heiss’s gaze. “Better than fine. I’m great.” He smirked. “Definitely one of my top twenty orgasms.”
“Oh? Only the top twenty?” Mr. Heiss chuckled. “I suppose I’ll need to work on that.”
“I’ll make some charts.”
Mr. Heiss rolled his eyes, but he was still smiling. “Do you need anything?”
“A million dollars, a pair of Louis Vuitton Gala Pumps, the ones with the rhinestones in noir, and a Ferrari F58 Spider in hot pink. Like, super hot pink. Like, it hurts your eyeballs to look at it because it’s that pink.”
Mr. Heiss snorted out a laugh. “Anything else?”
“Nope. I’m good.”
“Is there anything within reason that I may get for you?”
“Mmm. I guess… this.” Indy beamed, drawing Mr. Heiss in for a kiss.
Mr. Heiss purred quietly as they kissed, and he hugged Indy close. When they finally came up for air, he was smiling, though there remained a pinch of concern wrinkling his brow. “Are you really all right?”
“Considering we just had our first fight and already made up? Pretty good.”
“First?”
“The other times didn’t count.” Indy shrugged. “I didn’t really like you that much.”
Mr. Heiss laughed. “I suppose that’s fair.” He kissed Indy’s cheek. “I liked you.”
“Oh? You did?” Indy grinned. “It was the shoes, wasn’t it?”
“Your light,” Mr. Heiss said softly. “It is rare for a human to have that kind of fire. I had often wondered why Mr. Kalt had agreed so easily to a deal with some random mortal, but now I understand.”
Indy’s throat tightened.
He had no idea which way this conversation was going to go, but bringing Mr. Kalt back up in any capacity was quickly killing his happy afterglow buzz. He kept a smile on and asked curiously, “Really? You’re just now realizing how amazing I am?”
“Being near you reminds me of being back in the light of the Celestial.” Mr. Heiss cupped Indy’s jaw. “It is the same feeling of warmth, affection, and brightness—”
“Like sunshine,” Indy said as it clicked into place. “Sonnenschein?”
“Sehr gut.” Mr. Heiss smooched Indy’s brow.
“Love that. No clue what you’re saying, but yes, cute.”
There was a distant beeping.
“Okay.” Indy made a face. “I am not an expert, but beeping is usually a bad sign.”
Mr. Heiss grimaced. “That would be the smoke alarm.”
“Gammy.” Indy laughed and gave Mr. Heiss another kiss. “Okay, time to see what Gammy’s set on fire, blown up, or both.”
“Oh, goody.”
“You don’t mean that.”
“No, I do not.”
