Chapter 5

Jennifer Rose

What the hell happened?

I wanted to blame it on the wine, but I knew it only gave me the liquid courage I needed to finally tell Axon that I’ve been thinking about him for days.

I felt bold and sexy, and our flirtatious banter had grown to explosive levels that I was sure he wanted me too… or so I thought.

When he picked me up like nothing and pushed me against the wall, I felt his hard cock against the pulsating core between my thighs. That part could never lie. I knew he wanted me.

His lips were soft as he nibbled and caressed me, and it was all so erotic that I couldn’t stop myself.

I wanted someone to ravage me, and I was sure this alien warrior pinning me against the wall was the one to do it.

I never felt so rejected in my entire life.

I couldn’t control my emotions, and tears fell down my cheeks like a waterfall. I ran toward my bed and threw myself on it, clutching my pillow into my chest, and crying until I fell asleep.

Why was I so hurt? If Michael had rejected me, I wouldn’t even think twice about it.

Had I developed feelings for Axon? No, it couldn’t be.

I couldn’t be in love with an alien… could I?

When morning came, and I finally plucked the courage to step outside my apartment to face Axon, I was so ashamed.

“Good morning. I’m ready for work,” I said, barely able to look him in the eye before looking completely.

He didn’t say anything, and we walked to my building silently. I was never so happy to see David as he joined us on the roof. I didn’t want to speak with Axon anymore, I only wanted to bury the memory into the ground where it belongs.

We watched as Axon got picked up from the rooftop, and then airlifted to their main teardrop-shaped ship.

“Come on, Jennifer. We have a meeting,” David said.

“Okay,” I replied, following him inside.

I desperately needed to get a good start to the work day as a distraction, but with the city still being evacuated, there was an eerie feeling lingering in the air. Nonetheless, we were trying to keep up with the large amounts of data coming in, looking for any signs of another ship entering Earth’s atmosphere. And with so much happening in the last few days, it was really starting to take a toll on me.

“Everyone! Can I have your attention, please?” David shouted as he climbed on top of the desk and addressed everybody. Everyone grew quiet and turned to look up at him.

“We’re going to have a very special guest today,” David said with a smile. “The President is coming to visit us. He’ll be meeting with our new friends, the Revians, in person.”

I couldn’t believe it. I thought it had been declared too dangerous for any of the leaders of Earth to meet with the aliens. Regardless, there was still some skepticism the Revians were here to do us harm.

“What time? Do the Revians know about this?” I asked him, and David shook his head.

“No, they don’t,” he replied. “The President thought it would be best to keep it a surprise, for security reasons. He’ll be joining us for the meeting this afternoon, and everything will be going on as planned as before,” he said.

Everyone started to talk in hushed voices as they heard of the President’s visit.

David began to shout out orders to clean the office up and prep for his arrival. I sat at my desk and wondered what the Captain and Lt. Axon would think of this surprise.

Would they be pleased? Would they be affronted?

I would find out the answer to my question in a couple of hours.
