A fuzzy feeling swirled inside me as I followed him.
The plane took off, and when the signal to buckle our seat belts switched off, Carter approached me like a predator. My breath caught in my lungs. I coughed to open my airways. Carter leaned forward, his hands resting on the armrests of my seat.
“Have you ever been fucked in an airplane, April?” I lost all my self-control when my name escaped his kissable lips. I shook my head, holding my breath.
My body tingled, and I became a pile of molten flesh.
“Perfect, we’ll rectify this situation.” Carter nipped my bottom lip, and I moaned louder than I expected to. Some sort of animal growl I’d never heard before exited my mouth.
A devilish smirk brightened his face.
Carter went back to his seat and motioned me to come join him. My body obeyed before I could think this over.
I straddled him, panting. “Are we supposed to do this up here?” Everything in me quivered. Carter’s calloused fingers traced a line from my lips to the valley between my breasts. Goosebumps bloomed on my skin. His mouth captured mine.
“Stop overthinking everything, Pixie. Please let me help you relax.” He pulled my bottom lip between his teeth, and I yielded him all the control. I writhed under his touch, and my eyes fluttered. Carter’s hand found its way inside my panties, and when he coated his fingers with my wetness and dived them inside me, I lost touch with reality. I arched my back, unable to silence the sounds of arousal bubbling deep inside me. “You want it, baby? You want me to ease all the tension in you?” he whispered in my ear with a croaky voice.
Carter rubbed my aching pussy in slow strokes. My vision blurred.
“Fuck the tension out of me, HN. Now.”
My teeth nibbled my lower lip, and I lost it.
Carter’s free hand kneaded one of my boobs.
Our mouths tasted each other’s skin. Our hands explored every inch of our flesh. Carter pounded into me until I saw stars. My body clenched around him, and I milked his erection. His tongue flicked my nipples, one at a time. A shiver, strong as a bolt of electricity, moved through my body from head to toe. I fisted his hair, bringing his face to mine until our mouths fused. Carter clamped my waist, and with my soft front molded to his hard chest, we cuddled the rest of the flight.
We landed, and Carter and I climbed into the car waiting for us at the tarmac. A black luxury sedan with tinted windows. The driver put our bags in the trunk and held the door open for us to get in.
Already feeling like Cinderella, I hadn’t even put the gown on yet.
The last time I came to New York City, I was nineteen, and Travis had invited me. Now I wasn’t here to stroll all over the city as a tourist but to attend an event. Butterflies flew in my stomach, and waves of heat rippled through my bloodstream.
“Thanks,” I said. The man, in his late fifties, with salt and pepper hair, bowed like I was some sort of royalty. I cupped my burning cheeks.
Like in the movies, an opaque window divided the front of the car from the back.
Carter pulled me into his lap, and all the tension left me when he took control of our make-out session. His hands traveled under my loose sweater, and I indulged in our kiss.
“What’s that smile for?” Carter asked, leaning back against the backseat of the car.
“You. You make me smile. Like a fool. I was thinking about what we did up there.” I pointed my finger to the sky. “It was kinda hot. Very hot,” I said in a husky voice.
“I’m glad you liked it. We’ll have a do-over tomorrow.” With a sweep of his tongue, Carter licked the length of my neck, and I pushed him away, giggling.
My courage plummeted down to my toes when the driver parked in front of SkyHigh Hotel. Two beefy men, looking like oversized football players, wearing dark suits and dark shades covering their eyes—the same guys who hovered around us in Nashville—waited for us. The car stopped, and I swallowed hard, the ability to speak words leaving me.
How did I become a part of this? When did I become friends with someone famous enough that there was security waiting for us at a hotel where I probably couldn’t even afford the cheapest room?
Carter grabbed my hand and squeezed it tight, injecting me with mega doses of courage.
The beauty team—something June arranged for me—knocked at five-thirty sharp. Wearing a vibrant-green wrap dress and knee-high black boots, Betty, the makeup artist, applied a range of powders and creams to my face. Her purple plastic-frame glasses and her raven-hued, curly short hair gave her a boho-chic look. Rob, the hairdresser, wearing a three-piece sparkling black suit over a crisp white buttoned-up shirt with a raisin-purple bow, tackled my hair, using a flat iron to curl my locks in waves. Thirty at the most, his bleached-blond hair was coiffed into a Viking-style mohawk. I congratulated myself for retouching my pink hue last night. Rob fixed a few strands of my hair with a silver barrette and sprayed some glitter. “Woman, you’ll look fabulous in pictures.” He clapped his hands before him.
Carter grinned as I gasped in surprise when I saw my reflection in the mirror.
“It’s beautiful. Thank you so much,” I said.
Betty covered my eyelids with a shimmery powder and contoured my face with different shades of bronzer and highlighter. “Stop smiling for a minute. I can’t apply your lipstick,” she said with a wink. “Take this lipstick, and please retouch it a few times tonight. The trick is to never let it fade away. You’re such a sweetheart, April.” She smacked her lips together, motioning me to do the same. “Perfect. I hope you’ll have a wonderful night.”
