ABIGAIL

Andy cherished my body as if I belonged to him. As if I mattered to him and was precious. Each swirl of his tongue and caress of his lips over my naked flesh brought me to a state of ecstasy. All my cells trembled when he touched me. I could barely breathe on my own, intoxicated by his scent and everything he was, my heart beating to the rhythm of his own. He lay over me, perched on his elbows, his face hovering over my chest.

A single tear traced a path down my cheek, and he kissed it away. “Hey, what’s wrong? Talk to me.”

“Nothing. That’s the problem. It’s perfect.” It was so much more than what I expected it to be. I already knew we connected, but this, loving each other proved it ran much deeper than I thought.

Andy kissed each inch of my face before claiming my lips with a heated passion that made my toes curl.

Right now, I wished we never had to break apart. What we shared couldn’t be described in words. My body recognized the signs, though. Like freefalling into something highly addictive.

Star-crossed lovers. We would never be more than this night.

“Is it weird if I say I’ll miss this? Us?” I asked once my heart rate settled down.

“Nah. Somehow, I feel closer to you right now than I’ve felt to most of my friends, and I have known them for years.” He combed my hair back with his fingers, and I shivered under the delicate touch. “Can we do this again?”

“What? Sex?”

“Yes. But also, can we play that stupid game we did earlier again?”

“Which one?” I asked.

“Guess the lie. One. I have a mole on my left butt cheek. Two. I never sleep naked. Three. I’ve never gone down on a girl before tonight. Four. I can’t wait to be in Memphis.”

Propping myself up on my arms, I pressed him down over me as I inspected his ass. “One is a truth.” I kissed him. My digit followed the trail between his pectoral muscles and abs. Andy waited for me to answer. Right now, he looked relaxed. And happy.

“Which one is it?”

“Mm-hmm, I can’t decide. Two or four is the lie. Give me a hint. If number four is the lie I won’t hold it against you, but number two confused me…”

“What about number three?”

I snorted. “Come on, I experienced it. Don’t downplay your talents. It wasn’t a first-timer skill.”

“I have skills? Tell me all about it.”

I backhanded his chest. “You know you do. Brag about it. I don’t care. Which means, number two is the lie.” And you can’t wait to be away from here. From me. The thought stung. Sure, we hadn’t known each other a long time, but still, I believed what we had tonight meant something. I just hoped it meant something to him too.

“Beginner’s luck, baby.”

I blinked a dozen times. “Don’t sugarcoat it. I’m not some fragile princess you need to protect. It’s okay if you’ve done this with other girls before me.”

With a finger, Andy tilted my head up until we stared at each other. “I usually sleep in boxer briefs. And I really don’t wanna go back to Memphis right now. Take a guess.”

Oh, so he wasn’t in a rush to leave either. A balm surrounded my heart at the realization. “Oh, you were not kidding?”

He shook his head, a pink hue covering his cheeks. He looked adorable. And boyish with his crooked smile. “Abby, you were my first. It never felt right with anyone else. Not that I possess an extensive list of conquests, but you’re the only one.”

I framed his face with both palms and kissed him soft and deep, moaning as I did. “For your information, nobody has ever gone down on me before.” I kissed him again. “And I’m not sure I want anybody else to ever do it if it won’t be as good as with you.”

“I was right when we first met and I thought you’ll kill me by the end of the night. Keep saying things like that and neither of us is ever getting out of this room.”

In a swift movement, he flipped me over until I straddled him, and with his hands cupping my ass and his upper body pressing against mine, Andy kissed me.

A heart-quake developed inside me.
