Avi reached for his belt and Sean gulped.

Okay. I can keep it together.

Since he’d already taken off his own shirt before Avi had arrived, they’d be removing their

clothing almost in tandem. He lowered his head to keep from staring, even though he was sure Avi

had already caught him. Sean chanced a peek as he stepped out of his briefs right as Avi was lowering

his boxers.

Wow.

His virgin butthole clenched.

Avi straightened and regarded him. “I’m an experienced lover, Sean. I promise I’ll go slow. I’d

never hurt you.”

A thread of relief went through him before something else about Avi’s statement brought him up

short. He straightened too, frowning.

“Wait. What do you mean you’re an experienced lover?”

Avi smiled down at him and grasped his chin. “I’ve never experienced my mate. That’s more

important than anything. And your past dalliances won’t bother me either. All that matters is that

we’re together now.”

Sean cringed. “Um… What if I’ve never had any past dalliances?”

Avi brushed Sean’s bangs off his brow. “I don’t want to bring up a painful subject, but I’d

understood that Finn took you as his omega.”

“He did. But I was only with him for a few days. Him and the herd made such a mess of our

camp when they invaded it, that we had to move fast to get away.” Sean swallowed down his rising

emotions. “After they killed everyone but me and stole what they wanted, they set fire to our group of

cabins.”

Avi yanked Sean into his arms. “Oh gods, I had no idea. I imagine they thought they could hide

their crimes, could get away with being thieves and murderers.” Avi clutched him tighter. “They’re

going to pay.”

Sean rested his cheek against Avi’s hard frame, secure in the knowledge that his Alpha would

forever keep him safe, would always be there to comfort him. He wrapped his arms around Avi’s

waist and basked in Avi’s care as he stroked his back and kissed the top of his head again and again.
