“LaMarkus, please. Things are still new.”
Donald leaned across the meeting table. “What’s new? What did I miss?”
LaMarkus regarded Donald. “Avi, and the new swan shifter Kellan brought to the Valley, are
mates.”
“For real?” Chance joined the conversation. “Hey, man. Congrats. That’s awesome news.”
Small towns. Gotta love ‘em.
“Thanks. We’re very happy.”
By the same token, he was proud that Sean was his. It was only that Avi knew how shy and
uncomfortable Sean got when all the attention was on him. After only two weeks of living together,
Avi felt as if he knew his omega inside and out.
He snickered to himself. In more ways than one.

celebration. Not only that, but as fire chief, his presence would be required throughout the day to
monitor those who might decide to provide their own unsanctioned spectacular.
“All right, LaMarkus. I think we have that settled. Gentlemen, anything else before we move
on?” Rosemary glanced around the table. Everyone shook their head then she gave a sharp nod. “Fine.
Then I’d like to bring something up that’s of great concern. As you know, this town means everything
to me, it’s my life. With that in mind, I find it very disturbing that a threat against two of our residents
still exists out in the world. We had quite a scare already with Mateo, and I don’t want anything like
