Chapter Four
Nick
The next morning every minute I spend at home is slow, unbearable torture. The part of a day I usually enjoy the most, the soft Daddy coming from the foot of my bed as the only warning I get, and two seconds after, the weight jumping at my chest and warm snuggles from my little man now seem to drag forever. It’s just one more reason to hate Claire. If we had a normal marriage, functioning as husband and wife should, I would never be in this situation. I wouldn’t have to dread coming into the office. And any effort I made during breakfast of talking to my wife, trying to get the situation to become better, was met by her wall.Hell, for as many attempts at talking, and doing something to change it all, the wall would respond by now. But, not Claire.Sure, she made an effort with Ben this morning, surprising the shit out of me when she started playing with dinosaurs at his command, and she did say carefully, quietly, Talk to you later while I was going out, at which I only nodded my head, but it could be about anything. And for once, I didn’t want to get my hopes up.Still, I did.
*~*~*
I didn’t know what I could expect when I come in. Will she stand in my office demanding an explanation for what she’s seen and heard the night before? Because, I know she saw me jerking off in the shower and heard me saying her name while coming. Or would there be a lawsuit waiting for me at my desk, announcing my doom. The end of all my hard work, and the end of my false marriage, which would mean me, losing my son. If that is the case, I wouldn’t fight it. I would just sign the settlement and give her whatever she wanted. Just so I wouldn’t lose Ben I would gladly give her my company and all my money. The sight that greets me is the last thing I expect. There, sitting at Beth’s, my receptionist desk, is the woman herself, and on her face is a soft smile.
“Good morning, Mr. Thompson,” she greets not giving even a hint of acknowledgement for what happened yesterday.
“Heather,” I say cautiously.
“I’m here to step in for Beth, she has a strep throat and had to stay home. They called a temp to fill in, but no one showed up, so HR sent me instead,” she explains.
“Ah...,” I say like I know what the fuck is going on.
I don’t. And for the first time in a long time, I feel fear. That doesn’t stop me from looking up and down her, imagining she has nothing underneath that skirt, and like a good secretary she jumps on the table, pulls her skirt up showing me her bare pussy, glistening from her want for me, and saying, Here’s your breakfast, Sir.
Fucking hell, Nick!
Keep your head straight.
You can’t afford to get lost in your fantasies. Not today. Better yet, not ever again. I have that meeting I need to go my way, which reminds me, “Who will accompany me to the meeting?”
“I will, Sir. Beth called and left instructions, and I have my laptop here, so we’re all set.” The sweet smile never leaves her mouth, her fuckable mouth. Goddamnit!
“Excellent,” I decide to play along and act as nothing happened.
“You need anything else, Sir?” her pink tongue peeks out, wetting her lips. Is it just my mind playing tricks on me, or did she just shiver waiting for my response?
“Just my morning coffee,” I say, acting indifferent, while all I want is her to get on her knees and suck my dick.
“Already waiting for you, Sir. Beth included that in her instructions.”
Nodding, I turn and walk away, but not before I give her a smile and a wink. Good girl, she can listen to instructions. Wish I could reward her. Just for that thought, I slam the door to my office livid with not being able to keep myself in check.
*~*~*
“I understand, Thompson, but the five percent increase is not so unreasonable,” the man thinks he can play me.
Sure, in every day, five percent is nothing, but in this case, it means dishing out 17 million more than I agreed to. That’s not something I’m gonna let happen. People need to stop underestimating me. They think just because of my age I’m still green. It’s funny that in our everyday world the age of thirty-four is considered mature, but in the business one, I’m just a kid who came to play, not knowing the rules of the game. I smile softly, shaking my head.
“I get where you’re coming from, and I understand the emotional part in all of this, but unfortunately I can’t take that into the equation,” I explain to the man. I don’t mean to be a dick. It’s like they say, it’s just business, nothing personal. “Besides, I have here the report of your stock rate,” I extend my hand, expecting Heather to put the papers in it.
She surprised me today, proving her ability to hold the attention of the board room. And her presentation was short and to the point. She’s learning quickly there’s not much room to bullshit someone in this company. Now, I get nothing.
“Heather,” I question her, and in a second it takes me to look at her face I see what she’s unwilling to tell me.
There’s no report.
Fuck!
That was my ace in a hole. I planned to lower the price for another five per cent. Now if she doesn’t hand me that fucking folder I’ll have to go overboard.
“I...” she starts to spew some fucking fake excuse, but Eric speaks over her clearly unaware of the situation.
It’s a good thing he thinks he can play me by asking for more time. Otherwise, I would be fucked. “Let’s get this meeting over for today, we need to talk with our board, and then we’ll get back to you. I’m sure we’ll come to an agreement that is beneficial to both of us,” the worry is still etched on his face, but he’s trying to give me a poker face. Thank fuck they didn’t pick up on this little fuck up. “How does Wednesday sound?”
