Kane turned toward Minser.

“You can still leave with me.”

Minser laughed softly.

“You shot me.”

“You’ve survived worse.”

“You abandoned our team.”

“They became liabilities.”

“Ghost was your best operator.”

“Ghost became sentimental.”

“He remembered the oath.”

Kane’s expression hardened.

“Ghost chose the losing side.”

“So did you.”

Minser raised his weapon.

Wynn moved at the same instant.

She fired toward the maintenance platform.

The man above us fell before he could shoot Minser.

I hit the hangar door.

Roth and I entered firing.

Roth shot the guard near the aircraft.

I took the second.

Kane threw Elena aside and aimed at Minser.

Minser fired.

Kane’s weapon fired at nearly the same instant.

Both men jerked.

Minser’s bullet struck Kane in the center of his chest.

Kane’s struck Minser beneath the ribs.

Kane staggered backward.
