Aubrey moved inside and closed the door, flopping on the bed as exhaustion hit her. How did she get herself into this situation? Hot on the heels of that was thoughts of Will. He had come looking for her. If she was honest with herself, a part of her was doing somersaults that he cared enough, but the other part was terrified that she wouldn’t be strong enough to walk away from him and honour the deal with Jack.

She had never met a man who could make her laugh, make her feel free and independent while still making her feel safe. Will had done all that, it was part of the reason she hadn’t slept with him. His kisses made her knees weak, made her think of forever, and that was dangerous because men like Will didn’t do forever, they did ‘for now’. And once she slept with him and revealed her vulnerable side to him, walking away would be impossible.

Her last walk on the wild side had cost her parents their lives and she had no intention of taking another risk like that, and if it was one thing the computer genius was, it was wild. He was unpredictable and fun and did things without caring about the consequences, and it excited and terrified her. She was the safe sister—the sensible one—always had been always would be.

Madison was the wild one, and there was no room for two like her sister in one family. She and Jack had that in common, he was the sensible one too. Why couldn’t she be attracted to him? But despite his gorgeous Henry Cavill looks, he left her cold. No, she wanted the man with the secrets, the man with stories on his skin that told of a history only he knew. She wanted Will, and she couldn’t have him.

Chapter 4

“Are you sure about this?” Liam asked as they stepped off the elevator at 8:55pm.

“Don’t be a pussy, Liam. If Roz trusts her, so do I,” Will said as they walked towards the restaurant gathering the stares of more than a few women.

“Fine, it’s your funeral.” Liam shrugged as he winked at a maid that walked past him with an invitation in her eyes.

“You are such a dog.” Drew laughed as Liam followed her swaying hips as she walked away.

“Shut up you two, we need to find this Siren and figure out what the fuck is happening,” Will said exasperatedly.

He had felt the sick feeling in his gut ever since he’d seen the smoked out village close to the last sighting of Aubrey and Madison. If something had happened and he was too late, he would never forgive himself.

Moving into the bar, he felt someone’s eyes on him and looked around but didn’t see anyone. He went to the bar and ordered a beer as Drew and Liam took a seat close to the door. When he had asked Roz what Siren looked like, she had said not to worry as she would find him.

He had tried to search for any info on Siren and found nothing, which was what he’d expected. He was taking a sip of his beer, not really enjoying it, when he felt someone sit down beside him.

“I hear the Cider is good from your part of the world,” purred a beautiful brunette with a slightly Cuban twang to her accent, although she tried to hide it.

“I hear your favourite movie is Bambi,” he replied using the code Roz had given him.

“It is both sad and uplifting,” she smiled, and her brown eyes twinkled.

She was stunningly beautiful, and Will could see how she had gotten her nickname. With long, jet black hair, warm olive skin, and sultry eyes that held more secrets than he could ever learn, Will realised that although she only hit five feet, four inches and barely fifty kilos or one hundred and ten pounds in the old scale, she was pure dynamite in an exquisite package.

“I hadn’t thought of it that way,” he said taking another sip of beer.

“I have a small amount of information on the woman you are looking for. But I need something in exchange.”

“What is it?” he asked knowing that he would pay any price she asked.

“I need someone found.”

“Surely Roz could help you,” he said instead, wondering why she would come to him.

“She could, but I don’t want her to know.”

“So, you want me to find someone and keep it a secret from Roz?”

“Yes, and in exchange, I will help you find your woman.”

Will considered it for a split second before answering. “Fine, but only after we find Aubrey,” he said.

“Good, now tell your friends to join us at my table, and we will discuss what I know,” she said as she smiled at him. Yep, that was why they called her Siren because when she smiled empires fell.

Will stood and followed her to a table in the corner with visual to the door and the windows without making them visible. He beckoned Liam and Drew over as he scanned the room. He was getting a strange vibe from the hostess and the barman that had served him.

Liam and Drew sat down with their backs to the wall as did Siren leaving him with a clear line of sight to the door through the glass on the opposite wall.

“So, you’re Siren,” Drew said, and Will saw him appraise her, not like a woman although Will was sure there was a part of him that noticed her, but as a fellow operative.
