Mara dropped the bottle from her lips and was amazed that she actually did. She felt good, exhausted but good. “Yes, but I’m not sure how much I can do.”

“No problem, we can take it at your pace.”

Drew got the weights ready and counted her through several reps before taking pity on her and ending their session. He dropped an arm over her shoulders as they walked through the gym. “Want to grab a shower?”

His eyebrows waggled and she blushed at his intent but also at the fact that she really wanted to explore all the goodness she’d been eyeing up the last few hours more than she cared to admit. “What if someone comes in?”

“We can use one of the closed cubicles,” he replied with a wink.

Mara wanted to she really did, but her fear at getting caught was holding her back.

As if sensing her uncertainty and not wanting to push her Drew said, “How about we take a rain check? I need to see if I can find the safe at my old house anyway.”

“Can I come with you?” She stopped at the door to the showers and faced him, wanting to see the place where he’d grown up from the boy who’d felt he was a nuisance to the teen who’d accepted his fate. Drew hesitated and she watched his expression close.

“Please.” She clapped her hands and jumped on the spot like a child asking for ice-cream and wondered what in the hell had come over her.

Drew finally grinned and nodded. “Fine, but you do as I say. I don’t like the idea of you exposed like that, so we’re in and out.”

“Promise.” She lifted up on tiptoes and kissed him, letting her tongue slip between his lips as her arms moved around his neck.

Instantly he deepened the kiss, pulling her hips against his hardness before pushing her away with a groan. “Go, before I forget I’m a gentleman.”

Mara laughed but walked away. She trusted Drew would never force her to do a single thing she didn’t want to, but at this moment, with the taste of the sexy man on her lips, she didn’t trust herself either.
