Condor glanced at Reid, his oldest and best friend. “Can you go?”
Reid nodded. “You know it.”
Omega didn’t know what Reid and Liam did, just that it was classified by the British Government and they were highly skilled in multiple disciplines. He suspected they were British Black Ops and off-book at that.
“Captain, Pyro, it’s go time.”
“I want to go with them. I need to be there, Condor.”
The plan was for Reid and Liam, Captain and Pyro respectively, to go in first and Lyric would go in with Hawk, but he needed to be there, not sitting behind a screen.
“I can run the comms,” Hawk offered.
“Fine. Don’t make me fucking regret this, Omega.”
He geared up, popping his earpiece in, and taking an AK-47 from Condor. He had a bulletproof vest on over his shirt, as did the others. The fact Reid and Liam were helping was so far out of the rules, he knew Condor was worried. Rose was one of their own and everyone loved her and wanted a good outcome but no one wanted that more than him.
The four of them approached from the side that had the most cover and slipped around the back. Sandstorm was covering the front with Condor. Going through the unlocked back gate they saw no movement and continued past the trash cans and a small storage shed. Reid and Liam worked like a well-oiled machine, communicating without speaking mainly using eye movements and a few hand signals.
He and Lyric would take the second level and clear that while Reid and Liam cleared the ground floor. Liam mounted a small device to the back-door lock and touched his hand to his comms. A car horn sounded loudly as the charge blew, the sound not loud enough to be heard over the horn.
Omega pushed open the door and Reid moved in, heading for the living area which they had studied on the floor plans. He and Lyric moved toward the stairs and he heard a baby crying. Omega felt his heart constrict as he silently raced up the stairs.
“Please, Harlan, don’t do this. You don’t need to do this.”
“But I do, Rose. I need to know you feel the same way and the only way is for you to share your body with me.”
Omega moved faster, rage consuming him and he felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned to Lyric and knew he’d heard, but unlike, Omega who was losing it, he was calm. He held up a hand and pointed in the direction of the crying. He nodded and followed to make sure Jude was okay. It was what Rose would want.
Relief flooded him when he saw a pissed-off, but healthy Jude lying in a pack and play, his little red face screwed up in anger. Knowing he was safe, he and Lyric moved out of the room and met Reid and Liam coming up the stairs. Omega was shocked Harlan didn’t have better security in place. This all felt too easy and he was waiting for something to go wrong.
With Lyric beside him, he moved to the bedroom where he’d heard Rose speak and looked through the open door and saw a sight that almost brought him to his knees. Harlan had Rose pinned on the bed, her trousers were pulled down, and his own were around his knees, ass bare to the world.
“You see, Rose, now we’ll be one.”
“You get the fuck off her.”
Omega dropped his weapon and threw his body at Harlan who spun, shocked, his erect dick on display. Omega knocked the stunned man to the ground and straddled him, punching him in the face over and over, the rage he felt at what he’d seen unparalleled. He wanted to kill him, to send him to hell where he deserved to be, along with all the other filth.
“Aide!”
Only her soft voice saying his name brought him back from the brink of murder. He shoved himself off an unconscious Harlan, disgust filling him. He turned to see Lyric helping Rose stand. Omega forgot everything else and went to her, taking her in his arms and holding her tight, promising to never let go. He patted her hair and her face as he looked for injuries.
She had a bruise on her cheek and handprints on her neck and he wanted to kill Harlan all over again. “Are you okay, did he…?”
“No.” She shook her head vehemently not making him ask. “You got here in time.”
He wiped her tears, stroking her wet cheeks. “I’m so sorry, Rose. I should have protected you.”
“You did. You saved me, Aide. You saved us both.”
At that moment, Lyric walked in with Jude in his arms looking none the worse for his ordeal. Rose held out her arms and Lyric handed Jude over. Aide held them both, knowing he’d never let them go. They were his family, his life, and without them he wasn’t whole. “I love you both so much.”
Rose leaned into him with Jude nestled between them, the house a hive of activity as it became an active crime scene. Lyric threw Harlan on his face and he groaned in pain, making him smile. Lyric, along with Condor who’d just walked in, hauled him to his feet. Rose broke away and he tried to hold her back, but she was safe, and she’d earned whatever she was about to do or say.
He held Jude tight to his chest, his hand over the baby’s head to protect him from whatever came his way. Rose faced a very beaten Harlan who seemed stunned.
In a quick move she brought her knee into the man’s dick hard and watched him sag in pain between Lyric and Condor, a yelped scream coming from his mouth.
Every man in the room winced audibly but he was watching Rose who was magnificent in her rage.
“That’s for trying to rape me, you bastard.” She grabbed his hair and pushed his head back, so his face was upturned. “If you ever so much as breathe my name or my son’s name again, I’ll make you wish you were dead.”
The punch she landed was impressive and he tried not to smile as she walked his way shaking her knuckles out. He opened his arms to her as Lyric and Condor dragged Harlan away.
He had so much to tell her about Harlan and her sister but right now she was safe. So was Jude, and as he held them in his arms, he didn’t think he’d ever let them go again.
