Leo held himself on one elbow as he lifted her leg higher, driving into her harder as his restraint began to snap. Her hands reached for his biceps as she felt the climax build, her body shaking as she crested the brow of what she knew would be a life-altering orgasm.
Leo slammed into her with a roar as her body shattered and she screamed out in pleasure. The swell of his cock inside her as he came only added to the intensity of the feelings. Bebe’s heart rate slowed as her legs fell slack on either side of his hips, his body shivering as the last few pumps of his hips inside her left him spent.
Leo’s body sagged against her, but he held his weight off her as he rolled them, so she was lying across his body. It took a few moments for them to get their breathing under control before he kissed her head and rose to deal with the condom.
Bebe watched his tight, muscular ass as he walked away and felt the flicker of desire surge again. This man had turned her into a sex addict, but more than that, he’d stolen her heart. Her mind went to the words he’d spoken, and her belly flipped with the tiniest grain of hope.
As he exited the bathroom, she examined the cut above his brow that Waggs had taped before he and Mitch had left. Eidolon were only there to offer support, and according to the brief conversation she’d had with Roz, had men stationed close to the members of her team in the event they needed an assist like she’d done. A smidgen of guilt washed over her as she thought of her friends and what they might be dealing with while she was falling in love.
Her happiness had always left her feeling like she didn’t deserve it. She knew it was a throwback to her childhood and the demons she was yet to fully deal with. Perhaps she should speak to someone like Peyton Lawson, the PTSD councillor that Eidolon used. Maybe she’d be able to help her move on from her less than stellar beginnings in life and get over the guilt she felt when the other therapist she’d seen hadn’t.
Leo put a knee in the bed and crawled closer to her, dragging her across his body like a blanket, and pulling her from the dark thoughts. Resting her cheek against his heart, Bebe laid a hand over his abdomen as he put a hand over the top, his thumb stroking over her skin in small relaxing circles.
Taking a leap, she uttered the words she hadn’t said to anyone since her sister died. “I love you too.”
A rush of air seemed to leave his chest as he rolled her to her back and loomed over her with a grin. “Thank fuck.”
Bebe laughed at the look on his face, feeling the joy in her heart ease the weight she’d been carrying for so long. “That’s not very princely language, Leo.”
“I don’t care. I was so worried you wouldn’t feel the same.”
Bebe touched her fingertips to his lips, feeling the softness as he kissed them, and then held her hand against his heart. “I do, I think I have from the start. I didn’t expect to fall in love at first sight. I wasn’t even sure I still believed it existed for me, yet here we are.”
“I felt the same. It was like being drugged or bewitched in some way. I couldn’t keep my hands off you and then you revealed more of yourself with every conversation, and I fell in love with every part of you.”
Bebe frowned. “I still don’t see how this can work, Leo. You’re a Crown Prince and I’m an assassin.”
“You’re a warrior. The world needs more people like you. And if that’s what you want to do, I’ll support you.”
“You would?”
“I’ve seen how good you are, Bebe. We need people like you to defend against evil and stand up for the innocent, and if I get to be by your side then I’m one lucky bastard. I can’t say it won’t take restraint not to jump in and rescue you, but that has nothing to do with your ability and everything to do with me not being able to bear it if something happened to you.”
Bebe stroked his stubble roughened cheek in awe that this man could love her and offer her everything she’d ever wanted. A niggle of fear worked its way in as she waited for the other shoe to drop and all of this to be taken away from her.
Caution made her ask. “You’d give this up?”
She saw the pain it caused him to say it, but he did. “I’d give everything up for you.”
Bebe shook her head, knowing she’d never make him walk away from his birthright, not when he was born to lead. “I’d never ask it. This is your legacy, your life.”
“You’re not asking.”
“I know but I respect your father and he needs you. I think I’d like to find a compromise.”
Bebe bit her lip and Leo got distracted, his eyes becoming hooded, his cock twitching against her thigh. Lust coursed through her veins, and she hoped it would always be that way between them. Wriggling, she laughed at the growl that vibrated through his chest as his hands wandered over her skin.
“Behave a second.”
He buried his head in her neck. “I can’t. You consume me.”
“I have to tell you something.”
He must have heard the serious note in her tone because he raised his head, worried eyes finding hers. “What is it?”
Bebe saw the look of love she was still in awe of on his face as he waited for her to continue, not rushing her as she tried to find the words.
Taking a deep breath, she went for it. “Before I met you, I’d decided I wanted a family. I’d had no luck with love, but I had this urge to make a family. Perhaps I was trying to create what I never had, but I had good friends, so I decided to go it alone. For the last year or so I’ve been undergoing IVF. The last two attempts failed but I have the funds to continue, and I’m going to do so.”
