His hand moved up her ribs, slipping beneath the silken material as he cupped her breast, his thumb sweeping over the lace and torturing her peaked nipple. A whimper escaped her throat as the hand cupped her ass, dragging her leg over his hip, her skirt hitching higher as he rocked into her, his hard length teasing her clit and driving her higher. His fingers dug into the skin of her ass, his callouses rough against her softer skin.

“Are you wet for me?”

He gave her no time to answer before his hands were on her, his fingertip sliding along the edge of her underwear. He lifted her leg higher, getting closer as they tore at each other’s clothes.

A phone ringing had her stilling and suddenly she remembered they weren’t alone, the cameras her team had put in the room were giving everyone a live feed of them making out like horny teens.

“Shit. Cameras.”

Gideon stilled, his hand gently lowering her leg as he breathed hard through his nose. His voice was low against her neck, his breath tickling her skin. “I want you so bad I can hardly function.”

“I want you, too.”

Gideon sighed as he stepped back, giving her space to straighten her clothes while maintaining a private space, his back sheltering her from the camera. His thumb traced her bottom lip, his eyes dilated with desire and adrenalin. “I’ll wait for you, Nadia.”

She loved the way he said her name, like a caress over her spine. Hardly anyone called her Nadia, not even her parents, not that she saw them often. He wasn’t the man she’d thought he was, not the shallow playboy with a bad attitude. That man she could fuck and still keep her heart safe. This one had all the sexual charisma of the man she’d met but also the sweet side who’d held her hair while she was sick; that man was smashing down every defensive wall she had as if they were paper thin.

“We should get back to work.”

Duchess slipped around him and headed back to her desk outside his office door. Grabbing her bag, she rushed for the ladies’ room to fix her hair and make-up before the entire floor became aware of what had almost occurred.

Her phone rang again as she was coming out of the ladies’ room and she answered it quickly. “Yes.”

“We need to talk.”

Duchess sighed and nodded even though Bás couldn’t see her. “Where and when?”

“The coffee shop on the ground floor in twenty minutes.”

“See you there.” Duchess hung up and walked back to her desk where Gideon was waiting.

“You, okay?”

She nodded. “Yeah, I need to meet Bás for a little while.”

“I know, he called me too.”

Duchess reared back slightly surprised by that but shrugged. “Let’s go then. Bás is a real stickler for timekeeping.”

Gideon held out his hand. “After you.”

She gave him a sassy smile. “Such a gentleman.”

“Not really, I just want to ogle your ass.”

A laugh burst from her throat and the tension from the meeting and the intense kiss afterward lifted.

There went another piece of that wall.

Chapter 12

Gideon hated lying to her but, as he followed her to the ground floor of the building and walked into the coffee shop, he was glad he was there. In fact, he wouldn’t be anywhere else right now.

Bás stood as they walked in and he caught his eye knowing he had to give Nadia some bad news but not what it was. He’d stopped for a second when Bás had called to question as why he might want him here but then realised the man read people for a living so reading his feelings for Nadia would be a cakewalk.

“I ordered for you both.”

Gideon sat opposite Bás forcing Nadia into the corner. She might be badass, but his instinct would always be to protect her. She winked at him, clearly aware of what he’d done and letting him know it.
