“So fucking good, sweet girl,” he said against my ear. “Your taste, your sweet pussy. Can’t get enough. Just want to be inside you.”

His hands fumbled at the silky ties at my wrists. When I was free, he pulled out of me and rolled me over onto my back. His lips and tongue lapped against the sore spots from my bindings, then moved down my arms, one at a time, before he captured my nipple between his teeth.

I moaned against the pleasure, against the pain. My hands sought out his body. Slid against his sweat-covered chest. Glided around to his back.

“Not yet, sweet girl,” he murmured against my breast. He took my hands in his and curled them against my stomach before he pulled me against his chest and wrapped his arms around me.

I was still blind. Couldn’t see what the world looked like with the black silk tie across my eyes. But I didn't care. I was riding on waves of pleasure, flying so high I wasn’t sure I’d ever come down.

If I knew sex with Mitch would be this good, I wouldn't have held out so long.

“Tell me why you ran from me.” Mitch’s deep voice was a rumble in his chest. One that went straight through me as his heavy breathing started to slow. After he coaxed another orgasm out of me with his tongue, and another with his thick cock, he laid down behind me and curled my back into his chest. His fingers were entwined with mine, one of his legs between my own, and he alternated between nuzzling and kissing my neck.

A heavy breath fell from my chest. I didn't want to tell him my secrets. But after what he just gave me, I felt I owed him something. And he hadn't let me return any of his favors.

“I don't know.”

“You do know. Don't lie, Viv. Trust me enough to tell me the truth.”

My eyes clenched shut. I buried my face into the pillow beneath my head. Mitch gave me time. Didn’t press. Didn’t force me. Just another in my life who was too good for me.

“I’m scared.” My whisper made Mitch’s body tense. Then he squeezed my fingers between his, pulled my body into him, and kissed my neck.

“What are you scared of?” His gentle tone didn’t fit with the image of Mitch I had in my head. To me, he was a hard man. One who used women before he threw them away. One who only wanted a good time out of me before he left me alone. Moved on to the next woman willing to spread her legs for his magnificent form.

Maybe it was wishful thinking.

Again, there was that wait. That patience, unfounded.

“I’m scared of you.” I cringed at the brokenness of my own voice. It wasn’t me. It wasn’t who I let myself be. Yet the more I let him hold me, the more broken I became. “I’m scared of me. I’m scared of hurting the people I love. That’s all I ever do, that’s all I ever am. Someone who ruins lives and deserves nothing good in return.”

Mitch leaned back and untangled his legs from mine. He cupped my face with his hand after pulling me into his chest. When my eyes met his, the dark depths consumed me. “I don’t believe that. You are good, Vivian. So good.”

I forced a laugh. “You’re just saying that because you like the sex.”

Mitch didn’t laugh. Just ran his thumb across my cheek, staring into my eyes. “Don’t do that, sweet girl. Don’t. You can’t hurt me, and I will never, ever hurt you.”

My eyes closed again and I swallowed hard. “I hurt everyone.”

“I don’t believe you.”

“It’s true.”

“Then tell me. Who do you hurt? What have you done that makes you think you don’t deserve all the best?”

“Vinny.” His name fell from my mouth without a conscious thought and I cringed at my admission.

Mitch’s lips brushed mine, light as a feather. “How did you hurt your brother?”

“I almost killed him,” I told him, my eyes still closed. All the words I’d never spoken came spilling out. “I took away all his nutrients before we were born. He barely made it. He was in the NICU for months while I went home after a day. There was nothing to him. They had to revive him three separate times.”

I bit my lip and squeezed my eyes shut tight. “Because of me, he lost his mother. He lost his father and everything good that he deserves. He was always sick growing up. It hurt him. I ruined his life, and nothing I can do will ever make that up to him.”

Another feather-light kiss brushed my lips. “He still has his father, he still has you.”
