Tamsin huffed a quiet breath. “Debatable.”

The elevator climbed.

The space tightened.

By the time the doors opened onto their floor, the air between them had changed completely. They stepped out, the quiet of the hallway stretching ahead, the low lighting casting everything in softer shadows.

Aleksy let her walk ahead and watched. Because he wanted to, and really couldn’t not.

Her hips shifted with each step, controlled, deliberate in a way that told him she was aware of exactly what she was doing—and who was watching.

Jarek made a quiet sound under his breath. “She’s doing that on purpose.”

Aleksy growled low. “Hell yes, she is.”

They reached the apartment, the door sliding open with a soft sound that seemed louder in the silence that followed. Tamsin stepped inside first, not slowing, not hesitating as she moved through the space like it already belonged to her.

It did. They both knew it.

She didn’t stop in the living area. Didn’t turn to face them. She kept walking.

Straight toward the master suite. Aleksy felt something tighten low in his body as she reached for the buttons of her shirt, her fingers working them loose one by one as she walked, the fabric parting slowly with each step.

Jarek swore under his breath. “She’s going to be the end of me.”

Aleksy’s gaze didn’t leave her. Not once.

“Possibly,” he said. “But what a way to go.”

She reached the doorway and paused just long enough to glance back over her shoulder, her expression unreadable for a fraction of a second before her lips curved.

That edge. Pure invitation.

“You coming?” she said, her voice light, like she wasn’t setting the tone for everything that followed, “or are you just going to stand there drooling?”

For once—Aleksy didn’t wait. He moved first.

Jarek’s laugh followed him as he crossed the space, the door closing behind them as the night shifted again to something far more personal.

Chapter Nine

The door shut behind them, and the world narrowed.

Not all at once.

Not dramatically.

But enough that everything outside the room slipped out of focus, leaving only the space between them—and the heat that had been building all night finally tightening into something impossible to ignore.

Tamsin didn’t slow as she crossed into the bedroom. She could feel them behind her without looking, the weight of their attention tracking every step, every shift of her body as she reached for the buttons of her shirt and began undoing them one by one.

The silence behind her changed.

She didn’t turn until she reached the edge of the bed, glancing back over her shoulder as the last button slipped free and the fabric loosened against her skin.

“You coming?” she said lightly, though nothing about her felt light, “or are you just going to stand there drooling?”

Tamsin was surprised to see Aleksy move first. That shouldn’t have really mattered, but it kinda did.
