He gives me an impish grin. “Yes, ma’am.”
My breath comes in pants as he works me to the edge. I’m right there on the precipice when he slows. “Luke,” I whimper.
A cry rings out of me when he thrusts two fingers inside me, sucking on my clit at the same time. I explode. I’ve always thought people were kidding when they say they see stars, but right then behind my closed lids a kaleidoscope of colored stars swim across my vision.
I scream his name, riding out my orgasm against his face and fingers.
Just when I think it’s almost over, he hooks his fingers and I come all over again soaking him.
“Holy shit.” He looks up at me with wide, surprised eyes. “That’s so fucking hot, B. You have no idea.”
I cover my face, my whole body shaking as I try to regain control of my breaths.
Any traces of embarrassment fade as I take in his wonderstruck expression. I let my eyes trail down his body and lick my lips.
“You came too.”
He nods. “All over the fucking bed. I’ll wash it, don’t worry.” He stands and grabs the towel, repositioning it around his trim waist.
“I … uh … I think I’m gonna shower,” I stutter, my brain still short-circuiting after two mind-blowing orgasms back-to-back.
“I’ll get these going in the washer while you do that.”
Biting my lip, I ask, “Could you get me a robe or a towel or something? I feel silly to put clothes on to go across the hall.”
He arches a brow. “No one but us is home. You can just walk across naked.”
My face heats. “I know, but it feels weird. This isn’t my home.”
Something I can’t decipher flickers across his face. “All right. Give me a sec.”
He disappears out of the room and returns a moment later with a towel. I take it with a grateful smile and stand, wrapping it around my torso. “Thanks.”
He rubs the back of his head. “Uh … have a good shower, I guess?” His cheeks redden. I find his shyness adorable. There’s something so attractive about that.
I tiptoe across the hall for my second shower of the day.
It’s not until I get out that I notice the cylindrical object sitting on the bathroom counter along with Luke’s wallet, a pen, and a handful of change. He must’ve dumped out the contents of his pockets before hopping in the shower. I pick up the plastic ball with a blue lid and pop it open. Inside is a small little squishy panda. My heart clenches over the fact that he was clearly thinking about me while he was out.
Putting the panda back in the plastic ball, I slip out of the bathroom with it.
“Luke?”
“In the kitchen,” he calls back.
Clutching the towel in one hand and the capsule in the other, I round the corner and hold it out in my open palm. “Is this for me?”
He eyes the object in my hand and smiles. “Of course.”
The smile I wear is downright giddy. I clutch the gift to my chest. “Thank you.”
I scurry away before he can see the emotions written on my face. I’m not supposed to fall for him, but Luke Covey is making it hard not to love him. It’s a stupid thing, I know. Just a kid’s toy. But to me, it’s so much more than that. He listened and he realized it means something to me, so he brought me another.
I tuck the capsule into my dresser drawer alongside the other one where I know they’ll be safe. I don’t want anything to happen to them. They’re special. A physical representation that at least one person in this world thinks about me.
