Jens held himself still inside her, kissing the back of her neck. Sarah moaned. The position was so intimate, it felt like she could come just from that.

Jens’s arms wrapped around her body, his clever hand going straight for her clit. He stimulated the little bundle of nerves until one moan joined with one another, and she couldn’t believe it was her making those desperate noises.

“I’m going to—”

“Come,” he groaned, thrusting hard inside her as their release hit at the same time.

Sarah still hadn’t recovered her breath when he left her. Immediately, she missed the heat from his body.

“Let me get rid of this. I’ll be right back.”

“Is it okay if we sleep for a bit?” she called, when she felt him come back into bed behind her. His skin felt cold against her own now, which was still slick with sweat.

He nodded against her neck, kissing her shoulder gently. “Sleep, Schatz. I’ll be here when you wake up.”

“You called me that earlier,” she said. “Is that German?”

She wished she’d taken German in school, rather than Spanish.

“It means dear one.”

“You’re my dear one too,” she said sleepily.

“Where are we going?” Sarah asked. She’d recognized the way to Chamonix, but now that they’d turned away from the center of town, she had no idea where they were going.

“You’ll see,” Jens said. “It’s a surprise.”

He stopped the car next to a small, nondescript, two-story building.

“Trust me, you’ll like it,” he said, his eyes bright.

“I do trust you, Jens,” she said, getting out of the car.

Jens pulled the door open easily, letting her through ahead of him. The entrance hallway was painted a leafy, dark green—a pretty color, but altogether inappropriate for a room with no windows. She found herself staring at three doorways.

Sarah didn’t even need to look at the On Air signs on top of each door to know where she was. Somehow, she felt it in her bones.

A radio station.

She realized she’d spoken out loud. Jens beamed at her. “It’s probably much smaller than what you’re used to, but I thought you might like to see how Cédric works.”

“Cédric?”

“He manages the Chamonix radio station. He’s a great skier, a friend, and all around a good guy.”

“Surprise me. You rescued him sometime in the past, and he likes you, so you convinced him to let me come by and sniff around his studio,” Sarah laughed.

Jens shrugged his thick shoulders, making a noncommittal noise.

The door to the left of them opened and a short, stocky man with dark hair and a carefully groomed Garibaldi beard walked in.

“Mademoiselle Porter,” he said, grabbing her hand and pumping it up and down.

“You must be Cédric ...”
