CONNOR: The food? Awesome. The company? Not bad either. Though I wish you were here.

EDEN: Same :)

CONNOR: You might regret saying that. We end up watching the football games, with Landon and Johnson shouting at the screen about things teams should have done differently.

EDEN: Haha

CONNOR: Although this year, Rawley and I baited them by saying blatantly wrong shit about the plays. It was highly entertaining.

CONNOR: How was everything at your dad’s?

EDEN: Good! Tina makes wildly good pie. They had neighbors over so there were lots of kids running around.

CONNOR: Sounds nice.

EDEN: I’ve got to go for a long run tomorrow. Burn it all off.

CONNOR: Just leave that to me.

EDEN: Please get me into shape before my quarterfinal game?

CONNOR: It’d be my pleasure.

Women’s Soccer Team Wins College Cup Semis, Finals Are Next

Last night’s win by our Tolliver women’s soccer team over Florida State has propelled them to the College Cup finals tomorrow.

Star striker Eden Larsson scored one goal, and senior Bree Rogers scored the other, in a 2–1 victory. This was vindication for the pair, since Tolliver lost in the same round last year.

“We’ve never won the Cup, so this is a huge moment for us,” Coach Brenner said. “We’re ready.”

They’ll play number two ranked Stanford.

The College Cup is being held in Atlanta, and a splash of teal shirts made an appearance in the stands. It’s not too late to plan a road trip and get your tickets for tomorrow’s finals.

THE NEXT DAY

This is it, Eden. Everything you’ve worked for these past four years.

There’s no doubt, a win today would serve as vindication of my choice to stay in school. Sure, the College Cup wasn’t an aim of many of my peers at the elite level. But bringing Tolliver to the top will prove that staying for all four years was worth it.

I’d received a little boost already, yesterday. The national U23 coach, Felicity Mueller, had emailed Coach Brenner and me, wishing us luck—and confirming my selection to the next training camp in late February.
