“What?” I gasped as another image arrived. The same woman—nailed to a cross. At her feet was a habit, and I zoomed in. Yeah, that looked genuine. This one had a message. ‘She finally repented. When will you?’

I turned on my heel and headed for Cyber’s office.

“What’s up?” she asked.

I handed her my cell. “Do you think they’re legit?” I questioned.

Cyber checked them over and slowly nodded. “I’ll keep this and track where they came from. I’ll also run facial recognition for missing people or Jane Does.”

“She has to be dead,” I said.

“Ain’t disagreeing, Nun. Could the same person responsible for sending that rosary have sent these?”

“It’s what I’m wondering. Have I picked up a religious nutjob?”

“I don’t know, I don’t have enough to form an opinion,” Cyber replied.

“Can you dig? This isn’t sitting easy with me. I don’t understand why now, or what the point is. If that’s a real victim, is she alive or dead? I need answers.”

“Yeah. I’ll set something up ASAP.”

“Thanks, Cyber,” I responded, squeezing her shoulder.

“You’re welcome, sister.”

I left Cyber to her systems and headed into the rec room. Blue wasn’t around today; he was with Kiki settling in the carer they’d hired. Cyber had run a background check, and thankfully, this one wasn’t a Gerrit. Blue’s dedication to Kiki warmed my heart. There were good people out there. I knew that because of my sisters, but it was nice to see it outside the club.

Priest entered the clubhouse, looking around. On spotting me, he headed over. “Who’s Outlaw?” he demanded.

“Where the hell did you meet her?”

“A bar in town. She tried coming on to me, and when I rejected her, she didn’t like it. She told me to pass on a message: Outlaw says hi.”

“That goddamn bitch!”

“She someone I should be aware of?” Priest asked.

“Outlaw belongs to the Bloody Femmes.”

“The offshoot female version of the Bloody Scorpions?”

“Yup.”

“The female version are the same assholes as the males. Are they at war nationwide?”

“Yeah.” I wondered where he was going with this. If Priest dared assume we couldn’t manage or suggested we call in a male club, he was done.

“Why did Outlaw come after me?” he asked instead.

“That’s a good question.” I tapped my fingers against my thigh. “The Femmes are dangerous. If they approach, get the hell out of Dodge. Outlaw was sending a warning; don’t ignore it.”

“Where are they based?”

“Their National Chapter is in Hell’s Kitchen, New York, and their National President is Kara Golgé. Kara’s a nightmare.”

“Where is Outlaw located?”

“Manchester. They keep making incursions into our territory, and they continue to pay the price. Last time proved totally humiliating. I’m warning you, they’re bad with a capital B. They won’t care you’re RBMC, and Foxy, their Prez, will probably take that as a challenge. Major street cred if she took out a brother, and the Scorpions have. Be careful,” I said.
