Ryder spun around to see his brother appear in the open bathroom door. He reached for a towel to cover his groin, but it was too late.
“Oh my God!” Ethan blurted.
“Don’t you ever knock? Get the fuck out!” Ryder yelled.
But Ethan didn’t leave. “You’ve got your second cock! I can’t believe it.”
“Get out!”
“Nessie, Mom, Dad! You’ve gotta see this,” Ethan called out over his shoulder. “Ryder’s got his second cock!”
Furious, Ryder snatched his brother by the throat and pinned him against the wall. His hands were already turning into claws, and his fangs were descending.
“If you ever enter my room again without knocking, I’m gonna throttle you,” Ryder ground out between clenched teeth. “Now get the fuck out, or I’ll toss you out the window.”
“Ryder?”
At the sound of his sister’s voice, Ryder whirled his head toward her. Her gaze was directed at his groin, her mouth open. Only now Ryder realized that he’d dropped the towel when he’d attacked Ethan. In vampire speed, he released his brother, snatched another towel from the rack, and wrapped it around his midsection.
“Nessie, get the fuck out!”
“But I wanna see it close up,” she insisted. “I barely got a glimpse.”
While Ethan retreated into the bedroom rubbing his neck, he didn’t leave, neither did Vanessa.
“And that’s a glimpse too much. Some privacy, now, both of you!”
Ryder stepped through the bathroom door into his bedroom. From the hallway, he already heard hurried steps. That’s just what he needed: his parents. They entered his bedroom and stared at him. His mother was still in her bathrobe, his father wearing only a pair of pants, his chest bare.
“Can nobody in this house respect my privacy?” Ryder grumbled.
Vanessa smirked. “You can’t expect us to just ignore that you got your second cock. It’s a big deal.”
Ethan elbowed his sister in the ribs. “Yeah, pretty big from what I saw.”
“Ethan, Nessie, enough!” Gabriel commanded. “Leave, now!”
Reluctantly Ethan and Vanessa left the room.
“And close the damn door!” Gabriel added.
When his siblings finally shut the door, his mother approached him. “I’m so happy for you, Ryder.” She practically beamed as if he’d won a trophy. “Now let me see it.”
“Mom!” Ryder reared back from her. “I’m not gonna let you see it.”
“I’m a doctor. It’s nothing I haven’t seen before.” She cast a sideways look at Gabriel. “As you well know.”
“You’re my mother, and I’m not five years old anymore.” He gripped the towel at the spot where he’d fastened it, making sure that it wouldn’t slip in his mother’s presence.
“I just want to make sure it all looks good,” Maya insisted.
“Trust me, it looks like it’s supposed to look. So would you please stop embarrassing me, Mom?”
“There’s nothing to be embarrassed about, son,” Gabriel said with a proud smile.
Then he looked at Maya and added, “Why don’t you give us a moment, baby?”
“Of course,” Maya said, then smiled at Ryder. “I’m so happy for you.”
