Eline looked up about two hours later, surprised to hear Arlowe’s voice.
“It’s after eleven. I thought you would end up sleeping through the night,” she replied softly, not wanting to let too much noise into their room.
“You didn’t go to sleep?”
“No. I’ve been lying here, thinking about how happy I am, for a while now. You can go back to sleep, love.”
She kissed the underside of Arlowe’s jaw.
“I’m kind of hungry. I think that’s why I woke up.”
“Why don’t I go into the kitchen and make us something quick? Sandwiches?”
“Can I come with you? I’m not ready to not be in the same room with you yet.”
Eline smiled at her and shifted until she was on her side, facing Arlowe.
“Should we put on clothes?” she asked.
“No, no clothes,” Arlowe stated. “Not yet.”
Eline nodded. Then, she got up, walked around to Arlowe’s side of the bed, and pulled her up by the hands.
“Well, isn’t this an interesting position?” Arlowe said, walking them back until Eline was pressed to the wall.
“No way.” She laughed as Arlowe moved her thigh between her legs. “Food, babe. We’re both starving.”
“I know, but…” Arlowe pressed her thigh to her a little harder, which caused Eline’s eyes to close. “I bet I can make you come fast. We can eat after.” Her hand slipped between Eline’s legs then, and she began to stroke. “You’re still so wet for me.” Arlowe hovered her lips over Eline’s. “God, I love how you’re always just so wet for me.”
“Food can wait,” Eline stated, giving in fully to Arlowe’s touch.
CHAPTER 33
“We’re good,” Mitchell told her. “But how long are you going to be there again?”
“At least another six weeks. Thanks for meeting with me outside of business hours.”
“No problem. You know I was up. I’m pretty much always up.”
“I remember those days,” Arlowe said. “I don’t know that I can do that every night now how I used to, though, and I’d rather you be working than having to update me on that work, so feel free to hop off and get back to it.”
“Hey, while I have you – we’ve got the update for the glasses. Everything’s ready. Gabi’s doing a review before we send to QE, but do you want to take a look, too?”
“Yes, please.”
“After Gabi gives it the all-clear, I’ll let you know.”
“Thank you,” she replied and, hearing a noise, turned to see Eline standing up from her position at the table that occupied about fifty percent of the open space.
She must have gotten hungry because she grabbed a bag of these cheese twist things that she loved and pulled a bowl from the cabinet.
“Arlowe?”
“Huh?” she asked Mitchell.
“I guess I’ll let you go.”
“Yes, thanks,” she said.
