“What’s that?”

Another step back. He shakes his head slowly.

“What would you do if I ran?”

ROMAN

She can’t be serious. She has to know that she can’t outrun me, and even if she could, we’re so far out in the middle of nowhere that she’d never be able to get away without me finding her.

“You know I can catch you,” I tell her.

My stomach goes tense as she takes a step back toward the door. I take one too, keeping the distance between us.

“You could kill me if you wanted,” she says slowly. “You can obviously kidnap me. And you can catch me too?”

Her eyes keep moving, glancing over her shoulder, then back to me. She’s taking quick, excited breaths. And then it hits me.

I know what she’s doing.

She’s provoking me. Teasing me. Taunting me.

She wants something from me, and God help me, I’m more than willing to give it to her.

My cock starts pulsing harder as I stare at her radiant eyes. It’s been pounding painfully under my pants ever since we got off the road and pulled up to the cabin. But until now, my adrenaline was spiked too high to focus on anything other than getting her out of harm’s way. Getting her safe.

“So would you catch me, Roman?” she asks. Her voice is pitched higher than usual. Her lips are twisted in the corners, and her eyes are glimmering like light on the ocean as she rocks back and forth, swaying her hips seductively.

I can never lose this girl. Never.

“You know I would, Annie,” I say, stepping closer. “You can’t get away from me.”

“Oh, I can’t? You’re too big and too strong and too fast for me, Roman?”

Christ, this girl is a vixen. A devil and an angel all rolled into one. She’s got another fantasy in mind, maybe from one of her books, and she wants to play it out with me.

Okay, my angel. My devil. Let’s go.

“Don’t do it,” I growl, looking down at her, warning her with my eyes. “You won’t make it.”

“You don’t think so?”

Her cheeks are red like raspberries. Her lips are wet and pink, just like her pussy.

“I’ll catch you. And when I catch you, I’ll be forced to punish you.”

That one gets her. Annie’s eyes flare, and she lets out a tiny little gasp.

“Punish me?” she repeats. “Gosh, that sounds—”

Without finishing, she whirls, wrenches the door open, and dashes out into the night.

Here we go.

She leaps off the porch, nearly colliding with the truck. I chase after her as she cuts hard into the shadows, sprinting through the trees as fast as her little legs can carry her.

My heart is racing. Not from the running. I’m in incredible shape. No, something else has me going right now, and it’s the exact same thing that has her going.
