“No!” I cried.

But there was no damn place to go, as he stretched to his full height and reached me in a few strides, flipping me around and delivering a quick, brutal spank to my ass.

“I said get your clothes off. I don’t need you catching pneumonia.”

“All right,” I said resentfully, peeling my soaked jeans and T-shirt off.

“Don’t do that again.”

“All right, damn. Why do you care?”

“Come over to the fire,” he said, ignoring my question. “It’ll keep you warm and dry off your clothes.”

“I don’t want to.”

“Come over to the fire.”

“First answer my question!”

Granger turned to look at me. His blonde curls were stuck to his forehead and throat, and those blue eyes boring into mine.

“When you weren’t at the house and you weren’t in town, I came out to find you.”

“You’re controlling,” I retorted. “No one told you to follow me around.”

“No one had to,” Granger said.

I didn’t know what to reply to that, but he had already moved on.

“Now that’s a pretty picture,” he said, his eyes sliding offensively down my naked body as my nipples prickled under his gaze.

“I’d rather it had been Hayden in that boat.”

He laughed.

“If you think I’ll ever let you do shit with Hayden, you’re a fool, Sosie.”

“What is wrong with you? You don’t want me! Why won’t you let anyone else have me?”

I kicked out at him, connecting with his shin, but he only gripped the back of my neck with a hard hand.

“I never said I didn’t want you, idiot. I said I was going to marry Pippa. I didn’t say shit else than that.”

I stared at him for a moment as he ground his knee painfully into my pussy, trapping me against the table.

“Then why did you marry her?”

“None of your bratty little business. I had a very good reason for that and you’ll know it in due course.”

“Due course? Get the hell away from me.”

I tried to wrench away.

“Why won’t you leave me alone?”

“Because I want you. And I’m going to take you whenever I want.”

“I don’t want you!”
