I faced her, my head tilted. “Do you mind if I ask how you got caught?”

Shame pulled her chin low, the once beautiful raven hair ruined with bleach covering her features. “Jack and I barely have sex. He found out how far along I was, lined up the dates, and knew he hadn’t touched me that month.”

My brows shot up. That month? Since Milo and I moved into the house together, we’d only spent one night without having sex. To go an entire month? That was crazy to me.

“He didn’t figure out it was Meyers until he searched my phone one night when I was in the shower.”

Well, that was one thing me and Wyatt never did. We never sent flirty texts, or even phone calls. We always acted platonic unless we were alone.

“I miss him so much, Chazzy,” she whispered, another tear falling. “Every day gets harder.”

Strolling to the couch, I raked my fingers through her hair, wincing at the straw like texture. “I’m sorry.”

The door opened and filled with his angry frame, his toes kicking the wall to knock off the snow. “Goddamn little bastard. Well, he’s out,” he grumbled, entering the house and shutting the door. Wadding the case into a ball, he thumbed his nose and then smoothed his hair out his face. “He made a mess in there, so I’m going to clean it up before we hit the road.

“You need to finish your hair because you have a doctor’s appointment next week, Melinda.”

She rolled her eyes and pouted.

Tapping her on the shoulder, I gave a friendly smile, motioning my head. “You want me to help you? Come on. Let’s fix it.”

Sniveling, she stood and walked toward the bathroom. At the door, she gazed at me, batting her lashes. “I’m sorry I was mean to you when Milo first introduced you to everyone.”

A small chuckle pushed through my nose, my shoulder rolling. “It’s okay. I’m an acquired taste. Me and Wyatt loathed one another at first. I have to grow on most people.”

He patted my bottom and planted a quick kiss to my cheek as he passed us to clean the laundry room. “Big momma wore me down, straight to my fucking knees.”

A hot wave rolled through my system, and I giggled, my bottom lip between my teeth.

“Chazz?’”

“Hm?” I sighed, still watching him, my pulse quickening just at his sight.

She touched my hand, pulling my attention to her. Her eyes wild, her skin pale, she whispered, “If you can, run away.”

My brows furrowed, fear sinking into my gut.

“Get fake identities and disappear. You, Wyatt…” She patted her belly. “The three of you run far away from the Pampinella’s and disappear.”

I forced my smile back into place and nudged her into the bathroom. “Come on, let’s do a little pampering. Everything is going to be just fine.”

Immediately, I felt stupid with my fake encouragement, for we all knew one day, she would have to return to her husband who wanted her dead.

And if Wyatt and I weren’t careful, we would suffer the same fate as she and Meyers.

Chapter 30

Wyatt Shaw

Pleasure rippled through my body, a drawn out groan pouring out of my chest. Gripping the steering wheel, my foot fell off the pedal, Chastity’s head slowly rising and falling on my dick, her tongue giving attention to every piercing.

“Oh, kitten,” I whispered, my chest heaving with labored breaths. “Oh, my god, that feels so good.”

Her hand tucked into my jeans, her finger pressing in the center of the ring at my base to roll the piercing under my flesh.

“Oh, yeah. Mm.”

She purred, lifting her head so only my tip was between her lips. Pumping her fist, the heel of her palm rubbed the barbells beautifully.
