Dex notices Cami's reaction too.
His face lights up.
“Oh, she likes what you’re—”
Cami slaps her hand over his mouth. “No.”
Micah laughs.
Ronan's mouth curves.
I reach for Cami, sliding my hand along the side of her neck until she turns toward me.
Her face is flushed, and her eyes have that slightly unfocused look that tells me she's farther gone than she's pretending.
Beautiful.
My wife.
I kiss her.
Everything else recedes for a few seconds—her hand stroking Dex, Micah’s fingers inside her, all of it.
Not because it stops mattering, but because I know this particular language by heart.
The pressure she likes against her jaw.
The way her hand curls at the back of my neck.
How she follows when I pull away just enough to make her chase my mouth.
Familiarity shouldn't make kissing someone feel more intense.
It does.
I break the kiss, but move even closer and keep my hands on her.
Someone's hand brushes the outside of my thigh.
Then Dex's hand lands partly over mine where I'm holding Cami's hip.
He notices before I do.
His eyes drop to our hands, then come back to my face, and he simply shifts his somewhere else.
No exaggerated reaction.
No attempt to test whether that boundary has changed.
That small movement hits me unexpectedly hard.
He knows.
All of them know.
They don't need me to justify what I am comfortable with or prove I'm secure enough to tolerate more. My boundaries aren't hurdles anybody is waiting for me to clear.
They're simply part of the room.
