Xavier

Ronny’sin my arms again and she’s looking up at me with the kind of trust I’ll never earn. I’m a bad man. I’ve done unspeakable things in the name of vengeance. I never meant to tell Ronny. She needs to be protected from the darkness of this world.

And if I was better man I would make sure she was protected from me.

I expected her to turn away. Loyalty means something in this world, and family comes first. It’s why I’m here, after all. So how could Ronny still want me when I’m about to bring her whole world crashing down?

It’s a blessing. She’s a miracle.

And she’s so soft in my arms right now that I could die in this moment and almost be happy. All I need to do is finish my quest and all will be well.

“He shouldn’t get away with that,” Ronny is fierce, her blue eyes fiery with a rage I didn’t know she could feel. “He’s gotten away with too much.”

“He won’t hurt anyone ever again. He won’t hurt you.” It’s never been clearer that I have to get her out of this place. Browler is a dangerous man, cruel and capricious. If he turns on Ronny…

I’ll kill him.

It’s a line I said I wouldn’t cross, not even for my brother. But for Ronny I don’t even have to think about it. Browler lays one finger on his daughter and he’s done.

“Where are you going?” she asks.

For a moment I forgot I asked the question, too caught up by the feel of her in my arms. “Anywhere. Everywhere. Away from here.”

Her breath catches. “You mean it? I thought…” she doesn’t finish the thought.

I hold her close and wait. Sometimes silence is a better interrogator than a question.

“When I woke up alone I thought you regretted it. That you didn’t want me like that and were letting me know it.” Her eyes are sad and I kiss her forehead, trying to banish the sadness before it has a chance to take root.

“I would have given my left… hand to hold you all night. But if someone had seen me...” I shake my head. We’ll have many nights together after this. I’ll make sure of it.

“So you want more than just a night?” she sounds so hopeful that my heart hurts for her. She needs a protector, someone who makes sure that her innocence is never taken from her.

“I want forever.” And I want to prove it to her.

I hike her up and kiss her, scooping my hand under her ass to pull her close. But the angle’s all wrong. I can’t kiss her the way I need to when I’m holding her up. I spin around and set her down gently on her father’s desk, suddenly pleased by his pin neatness.

I devour Ronny’s mouth, my tongue sweeping in and tasting her like she’s a forbidden treat. But she’s not forbidden, not any more. She’s all mine.

And she’s kissing me back. Her hands clutch me tight. The girl has one hell of a grip and I’ll proudly wear any bruises she leaves. She kisses me with a desperation that lets me know she still isn’t sure that I’ll be around for good, that nothing but death could make me walk away.

She’s wearing one of those slinky dresses and as my hand lands on her thigh I realize she doesn’t have any underwear on. I groan against her mouth.

“I thought you’d like that,” the seductress whispers against my lips. “I wanted you to be able to put your hands all over me, to feel just how wet I am for you.”

My cock is about to burst out of my pants at the temptation she presents. “Let’s go back to your room.” I’m hanging onto the edge of my sanity. We’re in her father’s office. We could be discovered at any minute.

“No one would dare come in here.” Ronny kisses me again, hiking her own skirt up and pulling me closer, her naked pussy rubbing against my dark pants.

She’s right. Browler’s the only person that’s supposed to be in this office, and of all the men on the property I’m the only one authorized to enter in case of emergency. They won’t interrupt us.

And there’s something about the thought of taking his daughter on his desk.

I can’t be the only one feeling it, not from the way Ronny is writhing against me. Not from the fierceness of her kisses. Making love in here is one big fuck you to Browler, and for some reason Ronny is right along with me. A better man would stop. A better man would take his woman in her bed where she belongs.

We both know I’m no good.
