Xavier

I knowit’s a mistake to bring Ronny back to her father’s house, but every minute we waste is a minute where he could decide to come home early. My girl is stubborn and I’m not going to waste time arguing when I’m not likely to win.

I’m learning.

The drive doesn’t take long and we’re pulling in front of the house just like it’s a normal day. No one knows where Ronny and I went, no one knows that we’re betraying her father. No one needs to know.

We get the job done and get out.

Ronny gives my hand a squeeze before letting go. “I’ll go get my stuff and meet you back here. Ten minutes?” Her smile is brave, but she has to be shaking inside. I’ve upended her world in the space of a day.

“You should let me come with you.” I don’t want her alone in this house of horrors, even though it looks like a perfectly normal mansion.

She looks at the house for a second to make sure no one is around then leans in and kisses me quickly. I chase it, needing a longer taste of her lips, but we’re out in the open and can’t risk it. “It’s my house. You hanging around will only attract more attention. Will ten minutes be enough?”

The bugs are a lead weight in my pocket but I nod.

I’ve never been this nervous in my life.

I’ve never had so much to lose before.

“Ten minutes. If you’re not in the car I’m coming to get you.” I try to sound threatening.

Ronny just grins. “Will you punish me if I’m not?” she sounds hopeful.

And my cock is rock hard. I can’t touch her. Can’t kiss her. Can’t bend her over the front of the car and claim her. So I give her a look as full of heat as I can muster and say nothing.

She heads in the front door and I go through the garage, leaving the first of the bugs hidden behind a light. I have six and they don’t take long to set up, but ten minutes will be tight.

The guards I’m supposed to be in charge of nod a greeting when they see me like it’s any other day. And for four minutes everything is fine. I get the second and third bugs planted, one is even in Browler’s office, and I’m setting the fourth in the kitchen when I hear a large vehicle drive up.

We’re not expecting visitors.

One of my men - they’re not mine anymore, I need to remind myself, even if they don’t know it - walks into the kitchen and I’ve pulled my hand away before he can spot anything incriminating. “Is bossman back?” I ask, aiming for casual.

“He’s pulling up now,” he confirms.

Fuck. Holy fucking shitballs. Fuck. I’m fucked. Ronny’s in danger. And there’s no way we’re getting out of this without getting bloodied.

I could run. I probably have enough time to make it to my car and peel out of here before Browler sees me. But Ronny’s still upstairs, I saw her just a minute ago.

I can’t leave her behind.

Browler can smell a rat and Ronny’s no actress. She’ll give herself away and then he’ll kill her, just like he did her mother.

No way.

Not happening.

There’s no walking out of this by fooling Browler and I have no time to prepare. “Has he got anyone with him? We need time to prepare security.”

The guard, Jeff, I suddenly remember his name, shakes his head. “He says he’s alone. Left his guards at the airstrip,” Jeff is shaking his head, knowing just how foolish that is.

All the better for me and Ronny.

I almost feel bad about what I have to do next.
