When he finally pulls back his lips are swollen and his skin is flushed. He sits back on his heels, blinking up at me with wrecked eyes and a feral, utterly satisfied smirk that tells me everything he couldn’t find the words to say.
Chapter 27
LEX
NOX - Room 1122
Feeling pretty good about myself right now.
34 days since Bella’s kidnapping
Well, mark the fucking calendar. Lex Barinov finally had a dick down his throat.
And yeah, no regrets.
Not a single one.
I’m not going to lie, it was hot as hell feeling Cade thicken against my tongue and watching the way his composure just… shattered. Jesus fucking Christ! That shit had me hard as granite and my pulse thundering in my ears like a pre-fight adrenaline spike.
“I think I did okay,” I rasp, wiping my mouth with the back of my hand and swallowing down the taste of him before pushing up to my feet.
Cade stares up at me. His chest rises and falls unevenly. “You think?” he barely manages to choke out.
My grin starts cocky, but doesn’t hold. Not with the way he’s looking at me. I reach for him and slide my palms over his wet shoulders, ignoring the way my own shoulder curses at the movement. I guide him forward until our foreheads touch, my hand settling on the back of his neck.
For a moment, we just stop. Standing there in the steam breathing together.
“I wanted to show you. Fuck, I wanted you to feel it, babe,” I murmur, my voice hoarse. “What you are to me.” My thumb drags along the back of his neck. “And how much I love you.”
I press a slow kiss to his forehead, lingering there for a second longer than usual. “You’ve always been everything to me. Always have and always will be.”
Cade sinks into me. “I love you, too,” he whispers, his eyes wet and I know damn well that it’s not stray droplets from the shower head.
We stand there chest to chest for a while before I break the silence.
“Want to know something?” I ask as my grin creeps back in.
“Sure.” He nods.
“Promise not to laugh?”
“I’ll promise to try,” he chuckles.
I scoff. “Okay, so you know how in those old fighting video games where you’re at the end of the battle and that voice goes ‘FINISH THEM!’?”
He chokes on a sudden, wet laugh.
“You said you wouldn’t laugh,” I snap, even though my lips twitch a little.
“Okay, okay,” he says, holding up a hand and shaking his head. “You’re right, go on.”
I cock a brow, trying to stay serious. “So you know the game, right?”
“Yes, babe. I know the game.”
“Okay, so when you moaned near the end right after I choked on your—”
“Oh my God,” Cade cuts me off, burying his face in his hands and already losing it.
